aptX Low Latency Bluetooth Audio Transmitter – Best for TV / PC, Operation range 30 meters, user-friendly interface, compatible with most TV’s on the market

Play your legacy audio gear through any Bluetooth speaker

When it comes to the best quality Bluetooth products, you can trust AVANTREE to deliver top-class and efficient devices.  In my Avantree Audikast Plus review, you will find all the key info need before purchasing this product. So let’s go!

Avantree Audikast Plus Bluetooth transmitter is one of the finest in the market, and you can tell how to appreciate users are of its effectiveness from the raving reviews. The devices allow you to stream your favorite songs from any of your picked audio devices to the headphones and speakers.

Designed with low latency, the transmitter minimizes any possible sound lag that might happen when you’re watching your Television. The transmitter can support 2 headphones, all at the same moment allowing you to share your favorite music with a friend. One more great benefit you get for using this transmitter is a long range of 100ft made possible by class one Bluetooth.

Avantree Audikast Plus Review – Features

The Avantree Audikast is a Bluetooth 5.0, dual transmitter featuring the low latency model of aptX audio codec. Usual Fast Stream, SBC, and aptX are also supported.  Dual means it can stream 2 pairs of speakers or headsets simultaneously. That can be useful under a range of circumstances, including 2 room setup.

As I mentioned earlier, what sets the Avantree Audikast Plus apart from many Bluetooth transmitters is the range of supported connects types. It is powered through its micro USB wire and features a USB audio interface, handily letting you transmit sound from your PC/Laptop and anything else which supports standard US class sound.

Avantree thoughtfully adds all the wires you may need:  a stereo RCA-to-3.5mm female wire, a 3.5-mm-to-3.5mm male-to-male stereo cable that converts the 1st cable, as well as optical S/PDIF light pipe. There is also a micro USB to type A USB wire for the PC connection and power.

The Performance – Best Bluetooth Transmitter

I live in a hard environment for wireless, the chicken cable over lath that forms the base for drywall and plaster does a great impression of a Faraday cage. The Avantree Audikast is rated a Class 1 transmitter, which means you’d be capable to stream up around thirty meters under perfect conditions. I did not fare that well; 30 meters was more like it in my home, and it reached around 60ft in the IDG offices.

Audikast Plus Built to Low Latency Bluetooth Transmitter

The low latency in the aptX audio codec’s spec, which means that the time it takes for sound to travel from the Avantree Audikast Plus to the receiving products is made as short as possible that is approximately forty milliseconds, compared to seventy to 110ms with the usual aptX and other protocols.

With 40ms of lag, the delay between what occurs on display and the sound being reproduced on your wireless speakers is what I would describe as livable. Unlike one claim I actually saw Qualcomm’s website, it is noticeable, and a few with find it irritating.

What is more, you would not get 40ms product performance from just any wireless speaker, headphone, or another client device; the receiving product must also support low-latency aptX for the complete deal to work and that is not practically common at the time.

There’s way, though, to basically remove latency problems depending on what you are streaming the video from; if you are playing videos from a PC, simply play the video using Media Player Classic or VLC and use that software synchronization/time-shift features to add a minus delay. There might also be system-level software solutions, I am not presently aware of.

Strong value

You can buy an Avantree Audikast Plus because it is not expensive (cheap Bluetooth transmitter), simple to use, and small enough to take on the way. To boot it streamed ideally for me within the about 50-foot unobstructed radius. If you need to stream wireless from your legacy audio tools, it is just the ticket.

It can work for video files as well, depending on how sensitive you’re to latency. That is not a knock-on to buy Avantree Audikast which has a low latency as any wireless device I have used; it is just the nature of the technology.

Avantree Audikast Plus Reviews with Pro & Cons

Pros

  • Transmits to 2 discrete devices at a time.
  • Supports S/PDIF optical input and analog.
  • Small, simple to use, and affordable.
  • Long-range distance up to 100 feet.

  • Not great for many headphones or speakers that do not support aptX-LL Devices not support aptX-LL will results in 70 – 200ms audio delay that will be noticeable by some users.
  • No voice guide.

Final verdicts

The low latency audio systems of the Avantree Audikast Plus Bluetooth transmitters make it a great item for entertaining. It supports both speakers and headphones and is responsive from up to 100ft. I hope the Avantree Audikast Plus review will give enough useful information before deciding to get one.
