Skullcandy Indy Evo review: true wireless in-ear earbuds and a great choice for sports and fitness with IP55 (sweat, water, and dust) resistance. The Indy Evo is a very secure fit with 3-sizes of ear tips. You can use either earbud and also able to full function control.
Skullcandy Indy Evo
3EQ modes, IP55 water resistance rating, full media control on each earbud, battery life: 6 hours (single charge)/30 hours with charging case
The Skullcandy Indy EVO are fine TWS earbuds that perform identically to the Skull Candy Indy Fuel. They are portable and sturdy. All features control scheme that packs functionality into a small surface area. That said, they have power for at least just 5 to 6 hours on a single charge, which might be a little frustrating for the person with long commuters, while their sound performance is lacking in adaptability due to their deeply underemphasized treble. For more details let’s jump into the Skullcandy Indy EVO Review:
They are aesthetically the same as the Skull Candy Indy EVO Fuel. They are conventional-looking TWS buds with a stalk design that does not poke too far out of your ears. Skullcandy Indy EVO buds are made of matte plastic.
If you are not a fan of their stem-like design, you’d also consider the Skullcandy Sesh Evo, which has a more traditional in-ear appearance. The build quality is decent, they employ a dense matte plastic build that should not attract fingerprints or be damaged by small bumps. They are also rated IP55 water and dust resistant, though this is not something we test for.
The case feels solid, though it’d be noted that the lid does not shut if the earbuds are not precisely situated in their charging cradles. There is a touch of the Apple Air Pods to the Indy EVO but, rather than relying on 1-size fits all, they use silicon tips and stabilizer ear gels to achieve a decent fit.
The combination worked efficiently for me – once, in place, the buds never come loose, even during a workout. They are comfortable for the most part, too, though I did experience slight ear fatigue in my right ear during long listening sessions.
There is no Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) but the snugness of the fit gives passive noise canceling capable of cutting out a sufficient amount of external voice or sound.
When using the default EQ Music function, the Skull Candy Indy EVO true wireless bud’s sound performance is somewhat dark. They have an accurate bass response, but fans of hip-hop and EDM might want a slightly more thump and rumble.
Unfortunately, their massive underemphasized treble mutes a lot of finer and to-the-point details and makes them ill-suited for further delicate genres like classical and jazz. It is worth noting that these earbuds feature 3 built-in EQ modes to superior and better suit different content – Music, which is the default setting, Podcast, and Movie.
The earbuds have amazing bass accuracy. it is flat across the range and very nicely reproduced, meaning that music should have solid punch and body without any overwhelming delicate instrumentals or vocals.
The Skullcandy Indy EVO buds provide impressively accurate mid. Vocals, as well as lead instruments, should be mostly absent from clutter. That said, an expanded dip across the high-mid and mid-mid range them toward the back of the mix and a little dull their finer edges.
For phone calls, they work just fine. There’re no additional features just as ANC, but the microphone and passive noise isolation worked capably enough to make sure good voice on both sides of the call for me. Touch controls of the earbuds work well, and it is possible to control volume, calls, playback, voice assistant, sound mode and equalizer presets all from the buds directly through simple and easy gestures. Equalizers adjustment is an interesting feature with 3 modes (as I mentioned before), Music, Podcast, and Movie – with the sound specifically set up for every use case.
The earbuds have average battery performance. The battery lasts nearly 5 hours and 40 minutes, which is nearly 6hrs Skull Candy Advertises in their promotional content. That said, the case does yield an extra 4 charges, which should be enough to get you through your daily needs. It also charges the earbuds quickly, with a 15-minute charge providing roughly 2.5 hours of playback for our test unit which makes them cheap wireless earbuds. You can also listen to 1 bud while other recharges in the charging case.

Pros
Cons
After full the Skullcandy Indy EVO review, I found these earbuds are a very good choice for fitness and sports. They are solid enough to cope with a couple of bumps and drops and do a fine job of staying in your ears, even during moderately intense workouts. While the touch controls scheme takes some getting used to, it lets you make several adjustments without having to pull your mobile out and disrupt your rhythm. If you are looking for wireless earbuds under $50, the Skullcandy Indy Evo probably be one of your great choices.
