Altec Lansing RockBox XL Review – Portable Waterproof Speaker

Altec Lansing RockBox XL Review – Short words

Altec Lansing RockBox XL review: good speaker for $200 based on the sound quality and good features. The RockBox XL comes with IP67 waterproof, which means it’s also dustproof, dirtproof, and snowproof too. This is a loudspeaker and good sound quality as well as strong bass as well. 20 hours of playtime is so good for a wireless Bluetooth rechargeable speaker and plus an illuminate LED light that makes you want to dance to the rhythm of the music.

Alter Lansing RockBox XL

wireless speaker, Bluetooth 5.0, playtime: up to 20 hours, voice assistant: Siri/Hay Google, waterproof rating: IP67, shockproof: yes, floatable in the water: yes, 5 illuminating LED light modes, charge out smartphone: yes, multi-speaker pairing mode: yes (up to 50), power output: 50 watts

With its Bluetooth wireless capabilities, portability, booming sound, and amusing features thrown in for good measure, it is obvious that Altec Lansing set out to create a kickass boombox-style speaker for the modern party. The RockBox XL will bring to mind a vintage boombox with its rocking sound, robust grip, and sturdy yet lightweight construction. And you might be inclined to carry the brand-new RockBox XL speaker over your shoulder as you walk into the next party to announce your presence. The results of our enjoyable testing of this new speaker are as follows: Okay let’s go deep dig about this speaker via the Altec Lansing RockBox XL review right now.

Build Quality and Design

The Altec Lansing RockBox XL speaker’s futuristic-looking tri-angular black plastic casing, and prism shape. This triangle shape is the same shape as several speakers of the Oontz Angle brand. There isn’t anything distinctive about the way the speaker looks and feels save the general form of the design. It’s convenient to have two color options: grey/black and red/black.

This speaker is portable with a solid handle on the top but its weight is not so light as well around 12 pounds. So this is not a speaker that you put in the backpack or take the speaker on the way on your bike. This portable Bluetooth speaker also comes with a physically secure build that makes it waterproof, snowproof, dustproof, and dirtproof as well. Its IP rating is IP67. So you can take RockBox XL Bluetooth speaker almost anywhere. You can let this waterproof speaker float around the pool (unplugged, of course) and it will be the focal point of your pool party. The very good things about the Altec Lansing RockBox XL are completely waterproof and dirtproof technology, which is easily our group’s favorite.

Cool LED Party Lighting

Altec Lansing adds a cool LED party lighting option to the RockBox XL to up the fun element. There are 5 different programmable LED light modes that will beats flash and pulse to the music. The Altec Lansing RockBox XL speaker allows you to set it to a slow fade, multi-color slow fade, solid blue, and beat to the music. However; at first, switching between the many lighting selections was enjoyable. My personal favorite option was to have the light pulse in time with the music, but after a few uses, You will start to get used to it. and the excitement about LED lighting subsides. However, the RockBox XL speaker still gives more fun with the LED light at nighttime parties.

Bluetooth and Connectivities

Altec Lansing RockBox XL has simplified the Bluetooth connection procedure as you might anticipate, and the speaker can remember connected Bluetooth devices. The Bluetooth range recording to its specs is around 100 feet, which feel is reassuringly accurate and reliable where there are open areas and no obstructions. But if there is a wall blocking your Bluetooth devices and this Bluetooth speaker, the wireless range decreases dramatically. Especially if there is more than one wall blocking between both, the Bluetooth range is reduced by half.

The Altec Lansing RockBox XL charge via a USB port. There is a waterproofing cap be protect these USB ports while the speaker floats in the water. However; I am not sure about the waterproofing caps’ durability. Time will tell if typical usage wear and tear compromise the cap’s seal. Will it be rendering the speaker no longer watertight? But I hope that it will be able to last for years.

Wireless Paring up to 50 speakers

The pairing function from Altec Lansing allows you to couple many speakers with a single audio source so that music may be played simultaneously throughout your home. They can be paired with RockBox XL and last up to 50 speakers.

RockBox Xl Review – Battery Life

According to manufacturer specifications, the Altec Lansing RockBox XL speaker provides a battery life of around 20 hours, which is long enough for the funniest and longest parties. You can enjoy the party overnight with this portable Bluetooth speaker. You should know that the RockBox XL speaker is generally like other electronic devices rechargeable, the speaker’s battery life will not be precise, depending on how it is utilized. There are a few factors that affect playtime such as the volume level you listening to, turning on the LED illumination function, or utilizing the USB ports. Another thing you should keep in mind is that the speaker will always discharge over time if not used for a long time. Or the other word, the run time will gradually decrease over time, just like with other rechargeable batteries in speakers, phones, etc.

Altec Lansing RockBox XL Speaker – The Sound Quality

The sound quality is quite loud, with 50W of power output and front-facing woofers giving you that heart-thumping, rumbling sound and solid bass. The portable Bluetooth speaker under $200 provides clarity mids and crisp trebles too as well as there is no distortion. It provides sound quality that makes you would like to dance to the rhythm of the illumination LED light and music.

If you looking for powerful sound with a solid bass speaker, the Altec Lansing RockBox XL is probably your good answer.
