If you are beginning to jump into the turntable and record player, the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT should start well with you.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Review – The Design

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT’s design is luxurious and not too heavy, 2.6 kg is quite lightweight when compared to other general record players. The slim square shape, The top is a lid covered with clear plastic to prevent dust. It is relatively light as it uses a lot of thin plastic as a component.

In fact, the overall shape looks like a DVD player both the size and rotation pattern. But it has a transparent plastic lid cover on the top to prevent dust or what’s something that can make it dirty.

Personal own thinking, the tonearm is fragile-feeling and not stable. But it still can work well and I hope it can function for over and over years if carefully used.

It is a belt-driver turntable and is a good option for casual vinyl listeners. The design is good enough and will not ruin the vinyl you playing on it. The default tone arms’ weighting setting is reasonable. Besides, It also has anti-skate features. These settings are not adjustable, it will work as designed.

Setting Up & Using

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT is reasonably easy to set up, its use is straightforward, and not anything complicated.

First, place the turntable mat (turntable part) on the spindle (the part that protrudes through the hole in the middle of the body). After that, you’ll need to attach the belt to the motor pulley and put the turntable mat onto the platter. There is no alignment, setting the weight, anti-skate, or other settings. These are done at the factory and you can’t adjust.

Before placing the disc and playing, Audio-Technica highly recommends that you should manually rotate the platter around 10 times. This way helps to eliminate any twists in the belt and to ensure the belt will smoothly while playing the disc.

Don’t worry about assembling the AT-LP60XBT turntable, you will get a manual in the package. In the manual, you will see useful illustrations to introduce you to this process.

After placing the disc onto the turntable mat already, plug in the AC adapter. After you press the start button, the Audio-Technica will take care of the rest. It will automatically manage the position of the tonearm. Including the tonearm returning to its original position at the end.

The good feature that is convenient for new or people not experienced, is the automatic start and stop which the higher-end turntable does not offer. You don’t worry about accidental scratches on your vinyl.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Review – Bluetooth Turntable

For those who like to listen to music with mood and feeling retro but still would like to use new technology, the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT is a great option. This Audio-Technica turntable is a perfect blend of retro and modern.

The BT version is meant Bluetooth, so the AT-LP60XBT turntable can be used with a wired connection or wireless connection via Bluetooth to our Speaker. Whether bookshelf speakers or portable speakers or soundbars, they can be connected to the Audio-Technica AT-LP60BT, But your speakers have to support Bluetooth connectivity as well. Not only Bluetooth speakers, but you can also connect the turntable to headphones via Bluetooth as well. On Amazon.com, the Edifier R1280DB Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers is an item that is frequently bought together with Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT by buyers.

There is a built-in switchable Phono preamp, which means you use the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT with no external amplifier. However; you can also use it with an external phono amplifier if you want.

We found that the pairing is so easy and seamless. You just open and enter to Bluetooth mode of your speakers or headphones. Next press and hold the Bluetooth button on the turntable, which sits on the bottom left corner. While it’s pairing, an LED light will flash change between the red and blue color. After paired and connected is successful, an LED light will stay on blue.

Audio-Technica Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable – The Sound Quality

Another good feature is the AT-LP60XBT turntable is support Bluetooth 5.0 aptX connectivity. So it delivers impressive sound quality over Bluetooth connectivity.

I’m not an audiophile, but this Audio-Technica turntable is deliver decent sound quality but can’t be compared to the high-end unit which you must pay more than $500 or up to $1000 for the higher-end turntable. Another factor you need to consider is the output device for sounding whether speakers or headphones which are important things for sound quality.

As above mentioned, I’m not an audiophile and can’t enumerate the details of the highs, mids, and lows including soundstages. But I’m happy every time I listen to my favorite songs on vinyl with this turntable. And I am very impressive the sound quality. Almost forgot, I use it together with Edifier S1000W bookshelf Bluetooth speakers. Maybe because of the S1000W speakers, which make the AT-LP60XBT deliver excellent sound, and I’m so much impressed.

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT has features that are great for casual listeners, but not for the audiophiles.
