Lypertek PurePlay Z5
True wireless earbuds, hybrid ANC, auto-ambient, 7 EQs preset, IPX4 water-resistant, playtime: 7 hours (single charge)/35 hours (with case), fast charge: 15 minutes get 2 hours, provide multiple tips for comfort fit, customize touch control mapping via app
In mid-year 2022, I had to write a Lypertek PurePlay Z3 review. They are very good battery life (10 hours for a single charge and 70 hours with a charging case) and also are excellent for sport with IPX7 waterproof. In this review, I will be talking about Lypertek PurePlay Z5. These are stem-style wireless earbuds. How they are good and not? Let’s look into the detail of the Lypertek PurePlay Z5 review right now.
The overall look is plain and not spectacular like other true wireless earbuds. The design is a moderate-length stem earbud, decorate with an aluminum PurePlay logo on the outside of the middle of the earbuds. This makes them look eye-catching. The charging case comes in a rounded square shape and matte-black finish that makes it scratches easily. The lid is designed to open on the top and feels a bit shaken while opening. But the hinge feels strong and should be able to use for a long time.
The company gives several tip sizes in the box, which easily finds the best secure fit for your ears. Things they give are PureSpace silicone tips (XS, S, M, L, XL), PurePower silicone tips (S, M, L), and PureComfort foam tips (S and M). Therefore, Don’t need to worry that You won’t be able to find a tip size that fits your ears. I feel that they are very comfortable and fit in my ears even after wearing them for hours and don’t feel any fatigue or hurt in the ears.
The connectivity of PurePlay Z5: Bluetooth 5.2 that supports SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive.
Is the Lypertek PurePlay Z5 ideal for working out? Thanks to the IPX4 water-resistant rating, So it should be against and survive while light rain and splashes. That means it can wear them for exercise, including indoor and outdoor working out.
Good decent battery life, there provide around 7 hours with turning off ANC and provide 4 hours with turning on the ANC feature. This number of playtime is not so bad and is average like other true wireless earbuds. However; just like I said in many previous headphones reviews, the playtime cannot be precisely specified. Depending on volume level. So if you are listening with the volume levels less than 50% for the all-time, it could provide battery life longer.
The charging case provides for 4 times charging, which means you can get a total of playtime up to 35 hours when including the charging case.
There is one LED light on the front of the case, which indicates the status of the remaining case battery. In terms of this, I like the PurePlay Z3 better. There are four LED lights at the front of the charging case of the Lypertek PurePlay Z3, which makes me estimate the remaining battery life.
Besides, the case is also charged via USB-C and wireless charging as well.
The Lypertek PurePlay Z5 comes with active noise-canceling but is not the best ANC wireless earbuds. These wireless earbuds can reduce some outside noise but not all of the sounds. The low-end sounds are well enough blocked from your surrounding but the higher sound still creeps into your ear. Choosing the right silicone tips and perfect fit in the ear canal is help reduce the outside noise in another way.
Even though the PurePlay Z5’s hybrid active noise cancellation is not so good, but not so bad too. They might be as good as Sony WF-1000XM4, but the ability to suppress outside noise is more than I experienced in the Sennheiser CX true wireless.
When it comes to transparency mode, the Lypertek PurePlay does well enough. This helps you hear the environment sound around you, it’s clear and open without too much noise. The modes make it easier to have a conversation with someone around you.
The PurePlay Z5 is upgraded from PurePlay Z3, they come with an auto-ambient feature. This feature will automatically activate ambient mode when you stop or pause the music or video playback. And then become you can aware of your surrounding. You can activate auto-ambient mode by toggling on in the app.
When talking about call performance, the Lypertek PurePlay Z5 is standard level. The PurePlay Z5 has built-in 6 microphones to pick up environment noise. So they deliver well crisp and clear voice when I talk to someone via telephone. And my friends that I’m talking to say that they could hear my voice very clearly for the most part.
The Lypertek PurePlay Z5 ANC true wireless earbuds are not outstanding in the bass. But they provide a natural sound and are well-balanced in lows, mids, and highs. They deliver distortion-free sound and are more natural even at high volume levels. The bass is quite deep but does not too much strong impact, they are moderate bass. The mids and vocals are clear. The highs are not too pierce the eardrums but effortlessly extend far. All in all the Lypertek PurePlay Z5 with powerful 10mm dynamic drivers create the sound in a way that is natural as real life.
These wireless earbuds from Lypertek work with the PureControl ANC app to control and adapt some features such as LDX Audio, Ambient, and EQ. Furthermore in the app, you can choose professional 7 preset equalizers, each are carefully designed preset. Then you can also customize touch control mapping, the Find My Earbuds feature and set up assistant, which helps you to get started easily and in seconds. This app is downloadable on both Android and iOS systems.

Pros
Cons
I know the Lypertek PurePlay Z5 is not cheap wireless earbuds like Mifa X17 or Pasonomi TWS-X9. Both have prices of less than $50. But if you are looking for a well-balanced sounding and natural sound performance, the PurePlay Z5 is one of the great options. They are also a very comfortable fit for ears and have a solid battery. The ANC is just decent and IPX4 water-resistant that you can wear it for running and exercise as well. However; thank you for reading this Lypertek PurePlay Z5 review till to end and highly hope this information will help you for making a decision.
