SoundPEATS Sonic Review: There are many great features in these cheap wireless earbuds. Strong battery life, and strong connectivities with Bluetooth 5.2 and QCC3040 chipset. Plus with powerful bass and supports aptX-Adaptive audio decoding. The SoundPEATS Sonic also comes with game mode and TrueWireless Mirroring to reduce audio interruption. The design of the charging case allows you to know the status of charging and the status of the remaining battery too. All in all, this is worth their price.
SoundPEATS Sonic Wireless Earbuds
in-ear, true wireless earbuds, Bluetooth 5.2, playtime: 15 hours (single charge on earbuds)/35 hours (with charging case), water-resistant rating: IPX5, built-in CVC8.0 microphone, support aptX-Adaptive codec, game mode, play mode: single/twin
SoundPEATS is a wireless earbud mediocre brand and pretty affordable similar to Anker Soundcore, or TOZO. SoundPEATS have many items of wireless earbuds that have decent quality and are fairly popular. The SoundPEATS sonic wireless earbuds that I would recommend to you today, it’s not new-release wireless earbuds, but issue on August 2019 on Amazon. If you would like to know about these affordable wireless earbuds, let’s follow me in this SoundPETAS Sonic review right now.
At first glance, the earbud’s design of SoundPEATS Sonic is like other SoundPEATS T2, Mini, or Mini Pro. The shape of the earbuds looks similar, a like-triangle shape. The logo on the top of the earbuds is prominent and stylish. The combination of matte gray and gold is a nice look and feels deluxe. They provide 3 different sizes of soft silicone tips in the box: small, medium, and large. The Sonic model is quite bigger than the Mini and Mini Pro models. But it comes with stronger battery life, which we will be talking about later.
Even though bigger size but doesn’t mean it can’t perfectly fit your ears. I still say the same as many of our previous contents. Keep in mind that, when you buy the SoundPETAS Sonic and got it, please try and choose the right silicone tips to find the perfect fit for your ears. Most wireless earbuds offer 3 or more silicone tips in the package.
During the first period of wear, you maybe feel the earbuds stay in your ears. But for a while when you are used to it, you will feel the Sonic is a comfortable fit. The earbuds with a bit long nozzles that get deep into your ears (but it soft), will give a tight fit and stay in place in your ears. This shape and design will provide better passive noise isolation. That means the SoundPEATS Sonic can block outside noise very well even though not as good as some high-end active noise-canceling earbuds.
The charging case is capsule shape and opens the lid on the top like a clamshell. It is a semi-matte and semi-glossy case. There is a SoundPEATS logo on the top of the case. Once open the case you will see the “SOUNDPETS” letter on the inside of the lid. And you will see the earbuds are stuck on the case with a strong magnet. The case is look solid but the hinge is quite flimsy. I can’t imagine the durability of the hinge, it may be quite durable and can be used for a long time if you use it carefully.
The SoundPEATS Sonic’s case is powered by USB-C and it is not compatible with Qi wireless charging. There is an adjacent indicator (light dot) inside the case. This light is green when the power is 100% to 50%, turns to amber when the power is 50% to 10% and turns to red when the power is below 10%. While charging, this light is red and will flash slowly when the power is below 20%, is amber with flash slowly when the power is below 70%, and is green when charging completely.
I’m very impressed with Sonic’s playtime. The SoundPEATS Sonic is quite great in terms of battery life, at least better than Mini Pro and T2 models. As advertize For a single full charge-on earbud, you will get up to 15 hours of playtime. From my test (but not too precisely), these affordable wireless earbuds from SoundPEATS is give around 13 to 15 of playtime, depending on the volume level you listening to. Nevertheless, the battery life may be less than what is claimed, but it’s a just little. For me, the 13 hours of continuous playtime is very well for, what do you think?
When including the charging case, they offer up to 35 hours (as on paper).
The SoundPEATS Sonic is the physical button, not the touch control. The button is placed on the outward of the earbuds. When you wear them you use an index finger to press the button to function.
Right earbud
Left earbud
The button is easy to press and responds very well.
The SoundPEATS Sonic wireless earbuds utilize Bluetooth 5.2 technology for wireless connection. They have a standard work range, of 10 meters or 33 feet. Even though have a thin wall between your earbuds and your Bluetooth device, the connection holds steady and does not have a hiccup of 10 meters.
Overall sound quality is very clear, but the bass is quite a bunch and is pretty pronounced and present. You have just to make sure to choose the right ear tip size and fit snugly into the ears. The treble is crisp especially female vocals. The soundstage is decent balance and the vocals come to the front quite clearly. The instrument’s sound separation is fairly decent for this price tag. All in all the sound quality, of the SoundPEATS Sonic is good for its price, but it is good or bad depending on what you like. If you are those who like hip-hop, heavy rock, or pop-rock genres, these cheap wireless earbuds are great for you.
The Sonic wireless earbuds also support aptX Adaptive as well. Besides, there is a gaming mode that gives low latency for gamers.
