Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro Review – Hybrid ANC & LDAC Wireless Earbuds

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro Review – Short words

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro review: The Redmi Buds 4 Pro from Xiaomi provides good sound quality and supports LDAC codecs at an affordable price. With a good battery life of up to 36 hours in total and a single charge on earbuds, the Buds 4 Pro gives you around 9 hours of playtime. The good thing is that they support a companion app that lets you adjust ANC and transparency levels, as well as customize the touch control settings. Auto-pause music when you take your earbuds off (in-ear detection) is one of the good features that Redmi Buds 4 Pro provides.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro

in-ear, IP54 water-resistant, battery life: 9 hours (single charge)/36 hours (with charging case),  fast charge: 5 minutes get 2 hours, multi-modes ANC & transparency, adaptive ANC, Bluetooth 5.3, in-ear detection, built-in 3 mics for clear calls, dual dynamic driver (10mm aluminum & 6mm titanium), connect to two devices at the same time, support LDAC

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro are the latest true wireless headphones from Xiaomi’s brand (Xiaomi). Their price is under $100, but they come with a full range of features. Virtually no different from true wireless headphones, the top model at all.

It includes dual-driver audio, Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity with LDAC Codec, adjustable active noise cancellation (ANC), connection to two devices at the same time, wearing detection, ear-print checking to fit, and headphones tracking. Additionally, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro also offers up to 9 hours of battery life and up to 36 hours with its charging case. The Redmi Buds 4 Pros come with a touch control system, including IP54 dust and water resistance.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro Review – The Design and Features

Redmi Buds 4 Pro are affordable true wireless earbuds that are Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified. The speaker is a dual-driver system. The mids/bass frequency range uses a 10mm dynamic driver with an aluminum alloy diaphragm. While at high frequency, a 6mm dynamic driver is used, and the diaphragm is titanium.

Wireless connectivity uses Bluetooth 5.3 technology, along with support for high-quality audio codecs like LDAC, so you can connect to two devices at the same time (dual-device connectivity). Other wireless earbuds that support LDAC and their price range is a bit pricer like Liberty 4 NC by Anker Soundcore or the Tozo Gloden X1 hi-res audio wireless earbuds.

These wireless earbuds have hybrid active noise cancellation, which can reduce noise by up to 43 dB. They work well at low frequencies (30 Hz–3 kHz). There are three microphones on each earbud to detect and receive noise from outside and process it to get rid of these noises. These 3 microphones are also used for talking telephones as well.

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro is an in-ear style. It is slightly plugged into the ear, is lightweight, and leaves a portion of the weight resting on the ear. This design makes it possible to wear it for a long time without hurting or fatiguing the ear canal.

When it comes to water resistance, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro has an IPX4 waterproof rating. You can listen to music with them while exercising or playing sports. But IPX4 is not completely waterproof. So if you are someone who always sweats a lot, I don’t recommend wearing the Redmi Buds 4 Pro wireless earbuds while working out. Another warning about these wireless earbuds is to be careful and avoid wearing them in heavy rain. These wireless earbuds can withstand only a little water splash or sweat.

Hybrid ANC – Adjustable Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Modes

There are three ANC levels you can choose depending on the environment and how much noise there is. The first is light mode: suitable for use in pretty quiet places such as libraries or offices. The second mode is balanced: ideal for use in parks or restaurants. The last mode is deep: suitable for use in some places that are very noisy like train stations or airports. Besides; you can use auto-adjust noise cancellation with Adaptive mode. The earbuds will detect ambient noise and adjust the noise cancellation accordingly.

In addition to three levels of ANC, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro also has two transparency modes. First is “Transparency mode” which is the normal ambient sound listening mode. The second is “Enhance Voice Mode”, which mainly focuses on speech sound. These let you hear surrounding sounds, say hello to people around, or wait to hear announcements on that place without taking the earbuds off.

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro can do noise cancellation quite well and smartly. Although the silence has not reached the level of the top wireless earbuds in this field such as the Sony WF-1000XM4, nearly and not too far. It can reduce ambient noise and I clearly feel it.

Call Quality

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro also offers crystal clear and free conversations with built-in 3 noise-canceling microphones. Effectively filters out external noise during calls, I can clearly hear every word while talking with my friends on the phone and he is also.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro Wireless Earbuds – Bluetooth 5.3 and Connection

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro uses Bluetooth 5.3 technology, which allows you to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time (dual-device connectivity). lets you easily switch between two connected devices. They are also compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows systems.

There is a slight pitfall in that some functions at first may be jammed or not perfect at times, such as connection speed or stability. Especially in LDAC mode or when simultaneously connected to two devices. However, after the latest firmware update, those problems have been clearly fixed, or at least such problems are found much less often.

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro can use single buds, but I found that using both earbuds simultaneously makes the connectivity seem more stable.

Battery Life

The company claims that the Redmi Buds 4 Pro offers nine hours of continuous listening to music and an additional 27 hours from the charging case. Totally, they provide 36 hours of battery life. It’s quite great in terms of battery life, and it can do as they reference or nearly. They also come with a fast charge feature. With just 5 minutes of charging, the earbuds can play for up to 2 hours of listening to music.
