I had never written about ZEALOT speakers due to I’m never testing them. But just a few days ago, I was visiting my friend and talking about headphones and speakers. My friend is a music lover and has a lot of different brands of speakers and headphones. But there was one speaker he hung on his bicycle’s hand that really caught my eye. It is shaped like a rugby ball, black. The ZEALOT S67 portable Bluetooth speaker that I will be talking about in this review, today. I tested it for a few hours and look at it in detail before deciding to write this ZEALOT S67 review. I don’t have much time for it. But it’s enough to memorize the details and sounds of it. Therefore, if there is any mistake I apologize in advance.
ZEALOT S67 is a portable speaker that is quite bigger than most handheld speakers. It is overall external superficially very similar to the W-King X10. But the W-King X10 has more expensive around 35 dollars. There are available two styles: handlebar and shoulder strap. It depends on the preference and aptitude of each person. Whether you choose a shoulder strap or handlebar, both are same quite strong. My friend’s is a shoulder strap type, black.
The ZEALOT S67 portable speaker is shaped like a rugby ball or looks like a cylindrical shape, swollen in the middle. The size is similar in size to a Rugby ball, which is quite large for general portable speakers. Due to the adjustable length shoulder strap design let it is still convenient for portability to outdoors. There are metal buckles at both ends of the shoulder straps to hook the metal hook on the speaker. It’s strong and doesn’t easy to fall off.
Although it is designed to be portable, it’s true. But it is quite weighty, 1.7 kg. So carrying it around all the time might not be a good idea. It can be a burden and make your arms feel tired. Or may cause pain in the nape of the neck if it is slung over the shoulder for a long time. That is just maybe for some people, not all. All connectivity ports are underneath the rubber plate on the bottom. There are USB-C for charging, AUX 3.5mm, SD slot, and USB-A which are useful for listening to music or charging out your devices such as mobile phones.
The almost entire speaker body is covered in a nice solid fabric mesh except for the control panel on the top, all ports that are enclosed with rubber plates, and the rubber plates on the underside for standing. The control panel is placed on the top. You can control EQ, playback control (play, pause, next, and previous), and volume up and down as well as the power button too.
All in all, in the design, the ZEALOT S67 is quite big and not too uncomfortably big. Its weight is a little heavy but not too heavy. The overall materials are very good plastics and feel very solid. The rest are rubber.
According to its sheet, The ZEALOT S67 has IPX6 waterproof. So you can use it outdoors and don’t worry about rain or water. With good materal and good build quality, it can withstand the impact is good enough. I had read one buyer’s review on Amazon that mentions the rugged material of the speaker. You try to read and will be known about the durability. And will say, wow! it’s very fantastic.
I do have not enough time to test its battery life. But my friend said that he use the SEALOT S67 speaker for 8 hours daily approximately for more than five days before it runs out of battery. It’s probably reach 40 to 45 hours for a single charge.
According to their specs, the SEALOT S67 portable Bluetooth speaker gives 40 hours of playtime with a 14400mAh capacity battery. Many people review on Amazon, They are very satisfied with the battery life of the SEALOT S67 speaker.
Keep in mind that, if you up the volume to more high, the playtime of the speaker will decrease. So the overall playtime of the ZEALOT S67 depends on the volume that you listening to music too.
It’s very loud for the speaker sizes. The ZEALOT S67 portable speaker comes with 75 watts of power output. The speaker provides powerful bass and a real punch to it. The overall sound quality is great at 40% of the volume. If you cranked up the volume too high, there is also some minor cracking or hissing if you listen to close attention.
The ZEALOT S67 has an EQ button for 3 sound modes (vocal, bass, normal) on the control panel. The vocal mode gives strong mids and highs. But the highs are too rigorous and also diminished bass. The bass mode delivers strong bass and so much punch but at a very loud volume produces the sound muddy which is too strong and also will make the mids and highs diminished or drain away. While the normal mode is best perfect for me. This mode provides good bass, clarity mids and vocals, and great treble ( not too high). The overall sound quality in the normal mode is not muddy or too screechy at the very loud volume.
The sound quality uses personal feelings to decide. Depending on the preferences of each there is a huge chance that they will be different. So even though I say the ZEALOT S67 portable Bluetooth speaker is good enough for $70, maybe some buyers say differently. However; as I said earlier, I tested and listen to music with the ZEALOT S67 for a few hours at my friend’s home which may not provide information in all aspects. I have to apologize in advance.
Another good feature, the ZEALOT S67 also supports dual pairing technology to get real stereo surround sound.
