Sennheiser had released CX 400BT and the most successful and most popular wireless earbuds in the market. Many people expect the new latest Sennheiser earbuds, and it is time for the Sennheiser CX true wireless earbuds revealed and released on the market. How well are the design, features, and sound quality of the Sennheiser CX true wireless? Let’s talk about it in Sennheiser CX true wireless review.

Sennheiser CX true wireless Review – The Design

The Sennheiser True Wireless CX design is very similar to the previous model. It has a functional look that will appeal primarily to minimalists, but it may not appeal as much to people who like their earbuds making a statement.

The Sennheiser logo is engraved on the large square housings of the earbuds, which are available in white or matte black. The box contains a variety of ear tips, so it’s easy to find the right fit.

Our ears are smaller than average, so the housings were extremely uncomfortable for us. Although this won’t be the case for everyone, it is something to keep in mind if you have small ears.

Although the CX True Wireless charging bag hasn’t been changed significantly from the previous model, it is still bulky and can be difficult to fit into a pocket. The charging case can be charged via USB-C, but there is no wireless charging. However, we don’t expect it to cost this much.

An LED light is located on the exterior of the charging box that shows the remaining battery life. It will light up in different colors depending on how much charge is left.

Each earbud’s housing is touch-sensitive. You can control music playback, reject, accept/end calls and summon the voice assistant using a series of tap combinations. The touch controls were intuitive and easy to use. The ability to hold the volume up or down on the left and right earbuds was a great feature that we appreciate, something you won’t get with wireless earbuds.

A recent firmware update allows you to customize the touch controls via Sennheiser Smart Control App. This is a useful feature that gives these buds a personal touch.

The CX’s touch controls work flawlessly. Sennheiser is one of a few companies that truly understand touch controls. It is easy to tap consistently and accurately with the large control surfaces. A subtle tone can be used to confirm you have tapped correctly.

The Sennheiser Smart Control app allows you to customize these controls. You can assign single-, double- and triple taps to your desired function. Additionally, you can choose a different function for each earbud, which is useful if you plan on using them independently (which you can do for music and calls). All the functions you require are available: play/pause, skip forward/back, and trigger your voice assistant. A long-tap gesture can only change the volume.

How about the CX True Wireless Earbuds’ sound quality?

Sennheiser’s TrueResponse transmitter is found in each earbud. The company claims that it will allow the units to produce “deep basses and natural mids” and a clear, detailed treble.

The CX True Wireless earbuds have proven to be capable of fulfilling those claims based on our experience with them. We were struck by the richness and power of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” track.

The vocals sound amazing, with great detail from the harmony of the backing singers. Overall, the soundstage is impressively large, with good separation between different frequencies and good clarity.

Scully and Mulder from Catatonia sound great with their overdriven guitars. The bass lines are strong and have a high level of control. The bass can be a little overwhelming on tracks like The Cardigans’ My Favourite Games. Some may prefer the CX400BT’s more neutral soundstage. The latest Sennheiser buds are a pleasant listening experience that will keep your toes tapping.

If the sound doesn’t suit your taste, you can adjust the EQ settings via the Sennheiser Smart Control app. You can adjust the EQ settings using the Sennheiser Smart Controller app. This allows you to adjust the frequency sliders manually or choose from a range of presets.

The Bass

There is the flat response in bass notes is a sound that will reproduce most of your music below mid-C. This means that there won’t be any basslines drowning out the rest or random notes surprising you by their relative volume. This type of sound is appreciated by many, even if it’s not the same as what they’re used to. It means that basslines won’t ruin your listening experience. It can be difficult to find bass instruments in older songs that aren’t at the song’s heart. Barry White’s song “You’re the last, the most important, my everything” has a bass that sounds a little quieter due to Barry’s low voice. Highs and Mids

The bass response is very flat. However, the highs and mids have a much higher level of emphasis. This little boost in emphasis helps vocals and low strings be easily identified and their harmonics to be heard more clearly. This can be heard in songs such as Baby I’m yours by Breakout. Sometimes, poor headphones or earbuds can make it difficult to pick out the correct consonants in lyrics.

The drop in emphasis between 3-6 kHz and some high harmonics can make it difficult to hear, affecting cymbal shimmer. These sounds can be annoying when you use other headphones. The CX400BT offers some relief.

Comparable to the CX 400BT, the Sennheiser buds provide a better battery life with 9 hours of earbuds and 18 hours in the case. This is an increase of 7 hours.

However, it is not class-leading – other wireless earbuds offer over 40 hours of playback – and it’s a shame the case doesn’t have more charges considering its size.

The Connectivity

Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility has been improved, along with support for AAC, SBC, and aptX codecs. As such, streaming high-res audio tracks should not be a problem. We had no trouble pairing the earbuds to our phone and didn’t experience any dropouts while testing.

Each earbud can be used independently, and dual microphones within each bud should provide clear calls. Sidetone, an audio feature that makes it easier to hear your voice over the phone, has also been introduced. The app has a slider that allows you to adjust the volume of your voice.

Quality Calling

CX True Wireless can be called at a rate of about 15% for truly wireless headphones. If the external conditions are calm and there’s no wind, your voice will be clear with little compression and wobble. Sennheiser describes this “speech optimized” sound in their description of the earbuds.

But everyone else has a great deal. It was a pleasant surprise.
