Sony has just now launched the brand new Sony XB950N1 headphones. The base sound is the identical feature and the added features are noise cancellation, carrying bag, collapsing design, and better battery life. The biggest new extra is that you will be able to customize the bass level and you can try the surround sound modes.
Now, we looked at the outstanding feature’s Sony XB950N1
Once the preset is saved on the app, then these are saved locally on the headphones and you will be able to enjoy the customized sound on any of the Bluetooth and a wired device.
The most important feature for the headphone is sound which is a game-changer. These headphones are having a fully controllable bass and virtual surround sound. Thanks to the headphones, connect app from Sony.
This is the first option, which contains numerous surround modes. All of this is designed for mimicking live concert environments. There is an option like the outdoor stage, club, arena, and concert hall. These all are suited for different genres.
Outdoor Stage option is the best. The surround sound is very convincing and it is fun to have it. The concert hall option is best suited with the jazz/classical and the rest all are for pop.
If you are the person who likes the loud volume then these headphones contain surround sound, which will lower the output level.
Next, you might be having the electro bass/clear bass function. Now you will be able to set the bass level. It center it sounds to be the default tuning of the headphones when they are power off. You will not find much distortion in the middle.
The boost is more natural and listenable than the boost present in previous models. When you are turning boost to the negative area then you can EQ the bass to more neutral levels. This will sound like other standard headphones. However, this is the extra layer of flexibility, as not always you want to use bass.

Pressing the button will turn on both the surround sound and bass boost options, which you have set in the app. You can manually turn one-off.
Sony has included the proprietary AI-driven Digital NC active noise canceling system in Sony XB950N1. This is available only in this version of headphones. It is based on the older system from MDR-100ABN headphones.
Although it is older tech, yet it is working extremely well. Using this technology, the headphones will constantly scan the noise in the environment, will automatically select from the three different profiles, and will provide the best possible isolation.
It has not to reach still to the heights of Bose QC35 but 90%, it is good. I do not have any complaints about the noise cancellation here. You are able to toggle the noise cancellation on and off with the button which is a very handy feature. It will allow you to hear quickly which is canceled out and it will save the battery when it is turned off.
You will get a decent sturdy carrying bag, which will have the 3.5 mm cable in the box as well. In wired mode when the power is turned off these are not sounding at its best. So you might want them to turn on while you are using them on the cable. This is the only way to get the fun bass boost.
There is also the USB cable provided for charging but it is required to power it by computer or brick.

Pros
Cons
Sony XB950N1 is a feature-packed, fun-sounding headphones and it is priced reasonably well when compared with other similar models in the market. They are the successor of the B series and thankfully, the prices were not inflated to match the new features.
If you are having an Android or iOS device then this is best to buy. It is more fun to listen to this N1 series of headphones. The customization app is a plus with these headphones.
However; if you are looking for enhanced noise cancellation options then this headphone is not for you.
The 1000X will not require any separate app to use all its features and it is offering slightly better ANC performance and sound. But you have to pay more than 100 extra bucks for this sleek design.
