Sony WH-XB900N Review – Final words
Sony WH-XB900N review: Most Sony headphones don’t make disappoint you and WH-XB900N is as well. I can say the Sony WH-XB900N is among the best wireless ANC headphones for under $150. They produce great sound quality and are supreme comfort for long listening periods. The playtime is lasting up to 30 hours for one charge. Touch sensor, support voice assistant (Alexa and Google Assistant), support NFC plus LDAC, quick attention mode. All these are packed in the Sony WH-XB900N.
Excellent Digital Noise Canceling Headphones, Extra bass, foldable design, and comfortable,
30 hours of playtime, Voice assistants (Alexa and Google)
Sony WH–XB900N – Great sound, major thump, and Excellent noise cancellation
Sony’s extra bass Sony WH-XB900N noise-canceling wireless headphones.
Sound remarkable is low latency and does a splendid job like Bose qc35 ii at blocking out unwanted sound.
At a cost of under 300 USD, these headphones are hardly cheap. But the phone application equalizer allows you to enjoy adjusting many tailored sounds and bass to the overall sound, and there’s galore sound style.
Sony WH-XB900N – The Sound quality
The Sony WH-XB900N is a very decent-sounding closed-back over-ear headset. The extra bass name suits them perfectly, as their overall sound profile is quite a heavy bass.
Their bass is fine but overdone with an excess thump and rumble, which fans of heavy bass music might like but mostly find too muddy.
Their mid-range is finely balanced and decently flat, while their treble is also fine. Though leads and vocals in the mid-range are a bit thinned out by the bass and their treble is under our curve, resulting in an absence of detail and brightness on sibilants.
Overall, these headsets will be suited for heavy bass genres like hip-hop and EDM and would not be the finest option for vocal-centric sound.
Speaking of travel, a feature of noise-canceling is another spot where this differs from many others. One of the recent models, the 1000X, Company introduced a new chip: the QN1. This chip provides the ANC with a dedicated power source, rather than taxing the virtual to analog converter with that responsibility.
Many noise-canceling headsets force the DAC to multitask, and as an outcome, sound quality and ANC can suffer. This chip delivers the better sound and powerful noise cancelation, including the capability to personalize the ANC for atmosphere pressure – like when you are on an airplane.

Design to Easily for Using
The Sony WH-XB900N is well-crafted over-ear headphones that resemble the company’s flagship WH-1000XM3, but with little cheaper build quality. These headsets feel a little flimsier and have a bit more plastic touch, but they’re still extremely comfortable and have a fine touch-sensitive control scheme that’s responsive.
They would not be perfect for sports, as they are not the most breathable and stable pair of wireless headphones, but they will be fine for a number of users.
The Sony WH-XB900N has completed the familiar comforts of the peak-of-the-line pair. A rapid press and hold power on, tap to link through NFC and most vitally, touch-sensitive right ear cup. The gestures are matching to mark 3 – swipe up/down on the right cup for volume control, right/left to change songs, and double-tap to stop and play as well as answer and end phone calls.
The finest feature, though, remains the rapid attention mode. Just cover the right cup with your palm to muzzle the sound quality and get a rapid word in from your mates, strangers, and colleagues around. Eliminate your hand and you’re back to business.
The left cup houses the power key and another to summon voice assistants – ALEXA or Google Assistant and both are keys that are simply reachable with the left thumb.
Sony WH-XB900N – Compare to Other Models
Sony XB900N vs Sony WH-1000XM3
The Sony WH-XB900N is not quite as decent as the Sony WH-1000XM3 is some tiny ways, but is practically as fine as it comes to factors that matter most. The quality of sound is fine for several reasons, including fine drivers, perfect tuning, and support for advanced Bluetooth codes. Moreover, these headsets are very comfortable to wear, and the extra bass on offer can be much fun, all depending on the music you listen to.
ANC, while not the finest we have heard, is still very decent for the price of the Sony WH-XB900N. If you are OK with a little fatigue that the increased bass brings, and the not ideal noise acceleration, the WH-XB900N is a capable no-frills alternative item to the flagship Sony WH-1000XM3 and is by a huge margin.

Sony WH-XB900N vs Sony WH-XB950N1
If you are a connoisseur of noise-canceling headsets, you probably know all about Sony WH-1000XM3, it is the Bose qc35 ii killer: a noise-canceling headset that earned the best choice among its competitors. Though, not everyone wants to pay that much for wireless headphones. And that is where the new Sony WH-XB900N comes in.
An upgrade version over the previous and cheaper Sony WH-XB950N1, it has a similar design but does not have quite the premium feel of that model. Also, for greater, or worse, all depending on your music tastes – it is very heavy on the bass and its extra bass name implies.

Sony XB900N vs Sony CH700N
It is difficult to compare headphones such as different price tags, but it gets a bit simpler when you remember that they are intended for different consumers. Yes, of course, the Sony WH-XB900N is way better than the Sony WH-CH700N for double the price, but not everyone needs to spend 300 USD on headphones. For the wide majority of people, the Sony CH-700 is a bit fine, and they are a significantly better value.
If on the other side, you are a frequent traveler who does not want to sacrifice sound quality, the Sony WH-XB900N is worth the money. Not just do they sound great, but ANC is significantly stronger than WH-CH700’s virtual passive equivalent.

Sony WH-XB900N – Final Verdicts
After buying Sony WH-XB900N, I often question the value of costly headphones, not to mention the sound gear in general, but the Sony WH-XB900N’s clearly worth the money in the book. They are very easy to set up and use, look fine, effectively cancel noise, and the sound quality can be tailored to just about every taste. I might desire for little tighter bass extras bass, but that is just me being picky. Brilliant stuff from Sony!
