Hybrid active noise-canceling, AI-Enhanced call with 4 mics, 22 custom EQs, transparency/ANC, long battery up to 36 hours (with charging case), Bluetooth 5.2, IPX5 waterproof rating

Anker Soundcore is quite popular in affordable headphones, both over-ear and wireless earbuds. The reviewsbestheadphones.com had reviewed several wireless earbuds and over-ear headphones from Anker Soundcore such as Life A1, Life A2, Life Dot2, Life Mini P2, Life Q20, Life Q20+, Life Q30, and many more. Today I will be talking about the detail of the Anker Soundcore Life A3i review. How are these cheap wireless earbuds? Let’s go to the detail.

Anker Soundcore Life A3i Review – The Design

At first glance, the overall external body is similar to Life A1 and Life Dot 2. The Anker Soundcore Life A3i has mini ear wings, which give a more secure fit while wearing. They provide three sizes of ear tips like other general wireless earbuds which give the additional different sizes of ear tips. If you choose the right size and put the right position in your ear for the most secure fit and comfortable for a long listening session. The earbuds come with 10mm drivers that are quite big and you must place earbuds in your ears in the right position to perfect noise reduction. In the instruction manual, don’t wear earbuds horizontally because it will affect the noise reduction effect of the ANC. And it really is.

Can A3i be worn for sports? There is no correct answer, that depends on whether your shape is compatible with the earbud’s shape and the important thing is choosing the right ear tips size. But if you ask if it can be sweatproof? Yes, the Anker Soundcore Life A3i wireless earbuds are designed to withstand sweat, rain, and water splashes with an IPX5 rating level.

Physical buttons to control functions

These affordable wireless earbuds have not come with touch control, this is a good thing. These are real buttons and seem tiny, which is easy to press and not a complicated control function as well. The standard scheme function can’t control everything. For example; press on the right earbuds to increase the volume and press the left to decrease it. That means if you use one earbud you can control the volume only one way, increase or decrease, right? And also lacks a previous song and voice assistant option in the standard scheme of the earbuds.

However; the good thing is the controls can be modified via the Soundcore app.

Unfortunately, there are no ear detection features. If you want to stop music, you must press the button or control it via the Soundcore app on mobile.

Anker Life A3i With The Battery Life

The charging case is an ordinary oval shape, in my personal opinion, it’s not so beautiful. But they come with a strong battery that provides additional playtime for up to 27 hours. Plus the mini battery in the earbuds provides 9 hours of playtime. So, the playtime of the Life A3i is approximately 36 hours in total. These Life A3 wireless earbuds also have fast charging features. They provide additional playtime of up to 2 hours for charging only 10 minutes.

Life A3i Review – The Connectivity

The Anker Soundcore Life A3i wireless earbuds provide a great connection and connect immediately when you take the buds out of the charging case. Strong and stable within a distance up to 10 meters away from your Bluetooth devices. But some that I feel disappointed, the multipoint connection is not available. That means can’t connect these cheap wireless earbuds to two devices at the same time, which is like many Anker Soundcore wireless earbuds.

Anker Soundcore Life A3i – How is the sound quality

The sound quality is good and loud enough in this price range. The Life A3i does not provide severe bass. In terms of sound quality, it can’t compare to expensive wireless earbuds like Sony WF-1000XM3, Bose QuietComfort wireless earbuds, or also Sennheiser Momentum true wireless 2 as well. But the lows, mids, and highs are well balanced. However; the one advantage is the Life A3i offers preset 22 equalizers, you can choose and try the sound you like. Moreover; they are also customizable to your own sound profile too.

Anker Soundcore Life A3i – Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling

The Soundcore Life A3i’s noise-canceling is pretty good but not on par with high-end noise-canceling wireless earbuds from Sony (WF-1000XM3) and Jabra (Elite Active 75t). It can block enough outside noise to bring rest to my head. Nevertheless; When you wear the Life A3i and do not play music, the high-frequency sound might not be blocked and it still comes through to your ears as well. The noise is like laughter, a baby’s scream, or an ambulance whistle. But if you play music on medium volume levels, these surround sounds are easily quiet.

Active noise cancellation, you can change between on, off, and the transparency mode by pressing and holding the button on the earbuds. I feel that it can remove enough noise and make me immersive the music as well. Especially if you choose the right ear tips size to fit and firm your ears.

The transparency mode works well. You can hear all environmental sounds when you need. Traffic sounds and your friends talking to you make it easy to talk with them without taking the earbuds off.
