Anker Space Q45 Review – Great Sounding & Classy Headphones

Anker Space Q45 Review – Short words

Anker Space Q45 review: Adaptive active noise canceling with mid-range prices. The Anker Space Q45 headphones give good sound and noise cancellation. They are the most comfortable headphones at their price. And also offers long playtime of up to 65 hours (ANC off) and 50 hours ANC on). Besides, the very fast charge feature of just 5 minutes gets an additional up to 4 hours of playtime.  These are wireless ANC headphones that have nice looks,  great build quality, and surely good sound quality too.

Soundcore by Anker Space Q45

over-ear, wireless, adaptive ANC (5 levels adjustable & reduce noise up to 98%), hi-res sound, support LDAC codec, Bluetooth 5.3, playtime: 50 hours (ANC on)/65 hours (ANC off), supremely comfortable, adjustable headband, fold-flat earcup design, dual-connection

The Anker Space Q45 Adaptive ANC headphones are the latest model of Soundcore and also come with high-end sound quality but at a mid-range price. These wireless over-ear headphones are released at a price of only $150. This price is quite cheaper than Bose QC45 or Sony WH-1000XM5. And of course, both the sound quality and build quality of Space Q45 not be compared to both Bose QC45 and Sony WH-1000XM5 as well. The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 Adaptive ANC headphones also have great features and pretty cool sound quality. I will dig into the details of these headphones in the Anker Space Q45 review.

Anker Space Q45 Review – Design for Most Comfortable

The Anker Space Q45 over-ear headphones feature soft cushioned memory foam and are thick. The earcups and black metal headband are covered with faux leather to look elegant and feel soft for the most comfortable fit even during long listening sessions. The latest model from Anker is a lot much more comfortable than the Soundcore Life Q35 and it’s not even close. The space in the earcups is deeper and the padding is thicker.

The Space Q45 is designed to fold down flat and collapse at hinges to fit the zip hard-shell case that is included and can be put inside the case.

Smooth control button on both right and left earcups

It is actually buttons and most of these are multi-function that respond to a short press or hold it down to control any functions.

On the right earcups, you will see playback control. This button controls playback and also handles calls. Additionally, this button is also used to mute the mic by pressing and holding for two seconds and activate your device’s voice assistant by double-pressing the button. Next to this button, is the volume (+/-). The volume control button is also used for skipping to the next song and back to the previous song by holding it down. This is one of the drawbacks of the Space Q45 headphones of the Soundcore, it is easy to accidentally skip or back a track. The last is the 3.5mm analog slot.

On the left earcup, there is a power button and paring function. Next is the NC button, which presses for cycles through ANC, normal, and transparency modes. There is also a USB-C port on the left earcup for charging with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable.

Anker Soundcore Space Q45 – Robust Battery

When it comes to Space Q45s’ battery life, this is a noticeable upgrade from the previous model like Life Q35 or Life Q30. The Anker Space Q45 integrated 750mAh lithium polymer battery that will deliver up to 50 hours on ANC mode. The maximum playtime is up to 65 hours when ANC is off. The exact playtime is quite a variety, depending on the codec in use and volume level. These number is very good and better than both Life Q35 and Life Q30 which provide only 40 hours when using ANC mode and provide 60 hours when not using ANC.

The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 is very good when talking about fast charging. They provide an additional 4 hours of playtime for charging for only 5 minutes only. That’s fantastic!

Anker Space Q45 Review – The Sound Quality

The Anker Space Q45 headphones are outfitted with 40mm dynamic drivers and have a double-layer diaphragm that uses silk and ceramic materials that can deliver sound with strong bass and crisp treble. The frequency response is covered thoroughly in the range of 20Hz – 40KHz. These wireless headphones come with very low impedances (just 16 ohms) which means they are very easy to drive and can be used with any audio source, even though mobile phones, laptops/PCs, and also MP3 players.

The Anker Space Q45 wireless headphones are compatible with Bluetooth version 5.3. They support multiple codecs like AAC and SBC. Besides, they also support LDAC which is a codec for high-quality audio wireless sound for a detail-rich listening experience. LDAC is available in the WH-1000XM5 premium headphones from Sony as well as affordable wireless headphones like Anker Soundcore Life Q35. One thing that is unfortunate is the Space Q45 has not supported the aptX codec, which means there might be latency while watching movies.

They deliver a lot of bass without it being overwhelming or overpowering. The bass is powerful and no distortion even at the top volumes. The vocal is rich and the treble is crisp. All in all, the Space Q45 gives excellent sound quality, but can’t beat the Sony WH-1000XM5. In terms of sound quality and ANC, I think the WH-1000XM5 can do better than the Space Q45. However; The Soundcore app gives you the ability to tweak the sound as much as you wish. Therefore you can get the sound you prefer. Personally, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 provides sound better than its price. I like it.

Note: Keep in mind that you need to update 2 firmware when taking it out of the box. The first one is firmware that is about improving transparency mode, and another is to upgrade LDAC.

Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation

The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 provides up to 5 levels of noise cancellations. With 3-stage noise cancellation technology: filters out high frequency, filters out mid frequency, and hybrid active noise-canceling that can block out low-mid-high frequency noise precisely. As the company claimed, the Space Q45 can reduce noise by up to 98%. I don’t know if it’s true Because I don’t have a sound level meter. However, I felt that I could hardly hear any environmental sound at all when turning on the ANC to the highest level.
