SENNHEISER has been manufacturing wise rated in the top for best cheap gaming headphones with their Game Series and their more reinforced Computer series. While the game headphones are more inclined towards console players and a few PC game players with the input jack being standard.

The PC lineup stands at the top of the line for hard players who need precision and best quality sound mapping. The PC lineup stands over the game series because it has the capability to toggle among stereo and 7.1 surround sound.

This is just possible via the Surround Sound Dongle that takes a digital audio signal from the USB and converts it into 7.1 Surround Sound. As forever the SENNHEISER PC 373D’s mic is top of the line offering cleat and complete vocal quality. This Sennheiser gaming headset also stands along as a wonderful listening pair of headsets while not gaming that’s something that can’t be said about most other headphones.

Sennheiser PC 373D Review – Build and Design

The SENNHEISER PC 373D’s are a completely matte black red highlight on the mic and earpieces. The build is sticking with a smooth yet great look. There’s no unconventional wiring, no sharp colors, and no over-the-top banding tag.

With the available palette section, this Sennheiser headphone gaming is definitely unassuming enough to blend into your station without finely and discreetly. The overall look and feel of the headphone nearly resemble that of Sennheiser Game Zero. It does not stand out that much but currently is there.

The PC 373D – Headband

The headband of the headset is well made and feels high notch. It’s wrapped in velvet padding, making it comfy and soft. You can fix the fit by 2” swiveling it up/down. Like the rest of the headphones, it’s also plastic but it’s flexible enough to withstand some rough use.

Sennheiser PC 373D – Sound Performance

When looking for the best gaming headset there’re tons to consider, but the quality of sound comes first. The best Sennheiser PC 373D provides a wonderful 7.1 Surround Sound. They’re simply stunning. The overall experience playing games intensified widely due to the epic sound.

I really like Survival and RPG games. When I plugged in these headphones, the detail in sound representation left me with a huge grin on my face. Dead Space 3 game was even creepier, and necromorphs sounded a hundred percent scarier. The powerful thump by the close bass will be finely appreciated by fellow game players.

To reach a complete impression, I tried the game preset. It provides a fine amount of bass while keeping treble at a well-balanced level. When stalking my opponents dishonored. The 7.1 surround sound feature was really handy. I was capable to hear them pinpoint their spot. Talking them down in stealth was so easy.

If you tried it at extreme volumes, you would find out it bleeds a bit. I would not advise using it if you’ve somebody sleeping next to you.

The Connectivity of Sennheiser PC373 D

The PC 373D is made originally for PC. I tried it through my Play Station’s USB port and it worked fine.

Unfortunately, you would not get to enjoy entire its features in Play Station, as the equalizer and the surround sound are not available here. You’ll still be capable to appreciate the actual value of 40mm drivers, though.

The wire is 9.5ft in length, that’ll let you sit comfortably on your PC, or chill on the couch with the Play Station controller in hand. The wire’s dongle also provides a key for activating the Surround Sound.

The Microphone

Mic sound is okay, I still would not compromise and suggested it to anybody seeking the best Sennheiser gaming headset with Mic. I noticed that the voice is more compact and cramped than I’d like. The microphone is also extremely close to my mouth. It’d be bent away but I still noted a few breathy plosives. It does have an ANC feature, I believe that it’s not its best feature.

The Software

The headphone has software that provides some useful functions without being excessive. There’re 3 sound presents – E-sports, Music, and Game. You can also turn off the Equalizer feature if wanted.

The Music preset provides big boots to bass. The E-sports feature will be your favorite if you’re into the FPS game. It gives a sound performance that highlights gunshots and footsteps, ideal for competitive gamers. Aside from the presets the software also allows you to activate the mic’s ANC feature.
