Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ Review – 40H ANC Headphones

Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ Review – Short words

Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ review: The Soundcore Life Q20+ is a very compelling over-ear headphone. The price is quite cheap and they provide ANC, a pretty long playtime (up to 60 hours), and rapid charge (5 minutes get 4 hours). Moreover; the Life Q20+ also can connect 2 devices at the same time or what we call a “multipoint connection”.

Active Noise Canceling Headphones, foldable design, hi-res audio, built-in mic, Soundcore app, playtime: 40 hours (ANC on)/60 hours(ANC off), quick charge, multi-point connection

Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ Review – Beautiful Black Design

These affordable noise-canceling headphones, Life Q20+ are only available in black but look good and stylish as well. These over-ear headphones are very comfortable while staying on my head. That is because there are soft cushioned earpads and soft padding under the headband as well. The design is also standard like other over-ear headphones, for example; foldable earcups, ergonomic headband, multi-point rotation, and also travel pouch in the package as well.

On the left cup, there is a power button and a control button for toggling ANC. While the right earcup is the location of the playback control and volume buttons (plus and minus buttons). Including USB-C port (for charging) and an audio port (for listening with wired) is placed on the right earcup too.

Both earcups are padded with thick soft memory foam to protect your ear from injured. Also, this lets you can wear the Life Q20+ for listening to music for hours without any fatigue on your ears.

Life Q20+ Review – Soundcore App

You can pair the Q20+ and do anything via the Soundcore app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS). Including choosing 22 preset EQ profiles and also customizing your own, or choosing modes between noise-canceling, normal, and transparency. Besides, the Soundcore app also lets you upgrade Life Q20+’s firmware easily too.

Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ – Battery Life

As Anker’s reference, the Soundcore Life Q20+ provides 40 hours with ANC on and up to 60 hours with AND off. All in all, the Q20+’s playtime is vary and uncertain, depending on the volume levels you use and switching between ANC on and off.

Active Noise Cancelling

Even though the Soundcore Life Q20+ are active noise-canceling headphones but these ANC headphones are not very impressive in noise cancellation. I can still hear some engines sound while on the flight, especially on the plane taking off. Traffic noise can’t completely block even turning on ANC.

Another thing that I obviously notice, when turning on ANC the bass and volume are obviously down. You can feel if ANC is off, the bass is deeper and stronger, and also the audio is notably louder. That’s very unfortunate.

However; if noise cancellation is the main point for choosing a pair of headphones, you might be willing to pay more for premium headphones like the Bose 700 noise-canceling or the Bose QC35 ii. Or even cheaper price ones like the Skullcandy Hesh ANC, Jabra Elite 85H, or Sony WH-XB910N which you can get better.

The Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ are active noise-canceling headphones. The price under $100 is just roughly estimated, In fact, the Anker Soundcore Life Q20+ is pretty much $100 cheaper.
