Jabra Elite 85H Review – The Design

Jabra Elite 85h review

The Jabra Elite 85H is a semi over-ear and on-ear headphones. Someones say that it is an over-ear fit type and some people think it is on-ear.

Before you even put on this headset, you know you are dealing with the best quality headphones by the design alone. It is not a complicated design, it is elegant, minimalistic, and very sleek, and everything you would expect from a luxury set of wireless active noise-canceling headphones.

Compared to other models designs the JABRA Elite 85H model proves to be a personal choice. They are available in the Navy, Titanium, and Gold Beige.

The build itself is wonderful, consisting of mostly plastic made that is both flexible and sturdy. The ear cups themselves are foam cushioned and very soft to the touch and contain some really well-placed control buttons that seamlessly design. And also easy to use too.

The mesh material along the top of the headsets provides a padded feeling that also makes the headband feel comfortable.

The charging port is a Type C and alongside it, you can also find a 3.5mm audio jack with a button from muting yourself during a phone call. On the right ear cup is one button that lets the listener cycle via ANC modes.

There’s no off/on button though – this is because it automatically turns on when the cups are turned to face inwards. This ear detection feature is always found in truly wireless earbuds and rare in wireless over-ear. Just remove the headphones, the song automatic pause, and resume when putting the headphone back.

The earcups themselves are a bit chunky, put this down to individual preference. The bigger cup size helps with some passive noise elimination and means the headphone does not need to be so deeply clasped against your head.

As well as being really solid, the 85H is tough. It can withstand sweat, rain, and dirt and come with a faux leather case for storage purposes when not in use.

How Jabra Elite 85h Sound Quality?

Jabra Elite 85h - Best Wireless Noise Canceling under 250$

The tonal tuning of the JABRA Elite 85H is balanced well. The outcome is a sound character that is generally neutral and honest with respect to the original sound quality. Though the bass has neat depth, there is a superficial presence in the high bass range. The basic base balances the constant, equally balanced well.

On the other side, the midrange is a bit more emphasized with vocals sounds in particular seeming somewhat exposed.

In the end, these provide an appealing sound quality, with very much detail even at a high level of volumes. Though, these over-ears can sound a little foggy with a slight echo effect at times. While instruments are initially well managed and deliver neat and clear contours, fading looks a bit too stretched.

Supporting vocal sounds can in fact advantage from this effect, though the lively instrumental sound is fast-paced productions do not.

We don’t find any support in Elite 85H for high-quality audio codecs like aptX. Just AAC and SBC codec might be enough for streaming purposes, but the more sophisticated listeners might just found that the Jabra Elite 85H is not ideal for him

Jabra Elite 85H – 8 Built-in Mic for Great Call Quality

buy Jabra Elite 85h

abra Elite 85H uses 6 of 8 built-in microphones for enhancing call quality. They claim that the Elite 85H can block wind noise and the out background noise, and the result is crystal-call clear. With honesty, I rarely making calls when I wearing over-the-ear headphones. Because when I’m at home, the over-ear headphones will connect to a laptop or TVs, not a smartphone. Sometimes I go outside, I always use wireless earbuds like Sony WF-1000XM3 instead.

Elite 85H with Noise Cancelling & Hear-Through

Jabra Elite 85h review - wireless noise canceling headphones

Smart & Great Noise Cancelling

ANC is the most feature has to have. Even some wireless headphones under 100 still have this feature. The Elite 85H has too, and impressive smart noise canceling but not the best ANC that we have tested. However; the Jabra Elite 85H has efficient ANC that can block outside noise very well, so much quiet and you can focus on your song almost completely. Impressive with Elite 85H’s ANC because it does not reduce the sound quality very much. Just some little bass feel to be lost while turn on the ANC. It’s very surprisingly good.

I found that a lot of cheap headphones try to pack this feature, but the sound quality is not so good while using the ANC. But the Jabra Elite 85H does ANC very very well.

Hear-Through

Hear through feature setting was one of our most favorite things. This is not groundbreaking by any means, but you just get this function in high-end models that generally cost a lot more than these headphones. With this setting on, these headphones use their built-in mic to amplify your surroundings, not dull them.

This is best if you wish to listen to music but still be aware of what is going on around you or need a bit additional help hearing conversations.

Jabra Elite 85H Noise Cancelling Headphones – Comfort

The headphones are not just really well designed – but they are pretty comfortable too. That is thanks hugely to the fact that the headsets feature plenty of padding below the headband and in their cups.

The headsets are relatively light, which is forever helpful. Sure, it is probably not quite as light as in-ear models, but JABRA Elite 85H does come into play for things like long-way travel.

We were capable to wear these headphones for a long time without them getting uncomfortable. Someone will get a slight warmth for a long listening session for several hours.

Should You Buy Jabra Elite 85H?

For the price, the Jabra Elite 85H headphones are a solid investment. They have become one of my most favorite go-to work models because of their battery life and comfort.

The 85H headphones are made for people who appreciate fine audio but are not looking for the best level, very great audio quality, and frequency response that can cost huge.

If you are looking for a robust, reliable pair of headsets for the office, around the home, listening to music, or to use while you are working out, I would definitely recommend these headphones.

Final words

Jabra Elite 85H ANC headphones give several hours of playtime amazingly. Furthermore; you can get more playtime for up to 5 hours with a charge of just only 5 minutes, this is a fast charge. The Elite 85H comes with smart active noise-canceling features that will block outside noise very great. However; they do not support high-end audio codes such as aptX, ACC, or even LDAC. That is one thing that I do feel not good about them. However; overall the Jabra Elite 85H is worthy of their feature if you are ready to pay for them. Hope that: this Jabra Elite 85H review will give enough information for these wireless ANC headphones under 250 dollars.
