Anker Soundcore Life Q35 Review

Anker Soundcore Life Q35 Review – Final words

Anker Soundcore Life Q35 review: Excellent noise-canceling headphones with transparent mode and wear detection (auto-pause/play). Besides, the Anker Life Q35 also supports LDAC and high-res audio certification. You can connect to two devices at once. Moreover, it comes with 22 preset EQs, but you have to use the Soundcore app to set them up.

Anker Life Q35

Over-ear, hybrid active noise canceling/transparent mode, NFC pairing, Bluetooth 5.0, 40 hours, support LDAC, Hi-Res audio, wearing detection, multi-point connection, playtime: 40H (ANC off)/60H (ANC on)

The newest pair of headphones from Anker’s brand, the Soundcore Life Q35, come with multi-mode active noise cancellation. These ANC headphones are feature-packed and also support LDAC hi-fi audio. Most importantly, they are not too expensive for the price you can pay. How do these over-ear ANC headphones do the job? Let’s go to the Anker Soundcore Life Q35 review details.

The Design

The overall construction is plastic, except the headband has metal padding with extremely soft padding. Both the right and left earcups are also padded with memory foam, which makes them soft and comfortable for long-term wearing. The headphones didn’t create any squeeze on my head, and that is why I like the Soundcore Life QC35. However, this is a private feeling that depends on the shape and size of each person’s head.

Thanks to the design of the tilt-adjustable and swivel earcups and the adjustable headband, the headphones fit comfortably on your head and are not fatigued.

Moreover, the Anker Life QC35 is also foldable, making it easy to keep in the hard shell that comes with the package. When it comes to the carrying case, it’s nice and has soft-touch material on the outside, and I like it.

The Anker Life Q35 has added wearing detection features, which means the music will automatically pause when removing the headphones from your head and auto-play if you wear the headphones again.

Soundcore Anker Life Q35 Review with the Control

Nothing changes; the control buttons are placed on both the left and right earcups. The right earcups have play/pause and volume controls (double-pressing to skip to the next or previous track). The left earcup is the position of the ANC and power buttons.

The Active Noise Cancelling & Transparent

The Anker Soundcore release Life Q30 has prodigious changes in active noise cancellation features. But new releases like the Anker Life Q35 are still continuously developing in terms of ANC and transparent features. These great over-ear headphones under $100 have great noise cancellation performance with three modes selectable: indoor, outdoor, and transport. Each mode offers a different performance at the ANC level.

When turning on ANC mode, I feel the bass is more clear. The Life Q35 does a good job; it can mostly block out the background noise. I felt a noticeably quieter noise from cars, engines, and traffic.

Don’t worry, you will miss some important announcements at the airport or train station. Soundcore’s Anker Life Q35 also comes with a transparent mode that allows you to have a better awareness of your surroundings.

To easily switch between ANC and transparent mode, you just press and hold the right earcup’s touchpad for a second.

Anker Life Q35 Review – Sound Quality

The main part of the review for headphones that isn’t missing is the sound quality. The 40mm silk diaphragm driver is the same as the old model, the Life Q30. Nevertheless, the Life Q35 compacts with an LDAC for high-resolution wireless audio technology, which is competent for streaming higher-resolution audio than a standard Bluetooth codec. And the overall sound quality is not decreasing.

The overall sound quality is well above the price point. The bass is deep and strong. Sometimes the bass is too strong and probably offers a little muddyness from the high frequency. Also, sometimes the bass does not get in the way. In the heavy bass genre song, the drums probably drown out the treble such as guitars. The mids are very clear and clean, as well as the highs, which have decent clarity. However, for the lows, mids, and highs, you can tweak settings in the EQ via the app. So, if you want a more neutral sound, you can adjust the setting in the app.

The Soundcore App

The Soundcore app is an easy-to-use headphones app. The user interface is simple and easy to use, so you can get into all the headphones’ features and tweak the sound settings. Including updating firmware on the fly via this app.

With the app, you can fully customize the EQ and also have 22 presets that provide for covering all genres of songs.

Anker Life Q35 Review – Call Quality

The Anker Life Q35 has several great features like Bluetooth 5.0 (the range is up to almost 50 feet, as the company claims), NFC pairing, and multipoint technology (capable of simultaneously pairing two devices and switching between them on the fly).

However, when it comes to the call quality, honestly, it’s mediocre. I can feel and hear the other voice quite clearly indoors or at home. But I took out the Life Q35 to answer the phone, and I must admit that I have to fight through the noise to hear what the other side is saying, but not too badly. I am still able to communicate and understand what the other person is saying, thanks to AI-enhanced call technology.

Anker Life Q35 Review – Long Battery Life

According to its specs, the Anker Life Q30 offers 40 hours of playtime with turned-on active noise-canceling and up to 60 hours when turning off this feature.

This is a very long playtime, and with the fast charging feature, you will get additional power of up to 5 hours for 5 minutes of charging. Besides, you can save power with the wear detection feature. When you remove your headphones, it automatically pauses and resumes when you put them back on.

One thing is missing, and I hope the company will include it in the next-generation headset. That is wireless charging support.

Anker Life Q35 Review – Pros & Cons

In terms of sound performance, build quality, softness, comfort, and even noise cancellation, the Bose 700, Bose QC45, or Sony WH-1000XM4 from Sony are still group leaders. Even compared to the previous models of these expensive headphones, such as the Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose QC 35 ii, there is hardly a chance to beat them as well. So, you should not highly expect them to for this price tag. Nevertheless, the Anker Soundcore Life Q35 still has several good things and a few drawbacks that you should know.

Pros

  • Three-mode active noise cancellation/transparent
  • Support LDAC code
  • Great battery life
  • Wearing detection
  • Multi-point connection
  • 22 preset EQ

Cons

  • Mediocre call quality
  • The bass is too more and probably a little muddy

Anker Life Q35 Review – Final Verdict

In the Soundcore Anker Life Q35 review, I have to say that the ANC feature is so good, and the sound quality is quite good (if you are not a true audiophile). They also support LDAC for high-res wireless audio, which obviously improves the sound quality. One feature that Anker has developed in addition to the Q30 that I like is the wearer detection feature. All playtime is great; they can do as they claim, which is up to 40 hours on ANC mode.

Before the end, you should buy one. The answer is not the same for everyone, and answering clearly yes or no is difficult. But for me, don’t disappoint with the Anker Life Q35. I so much like it.
