Monoprice BT-600ANC review: For general listeners, not audiophiles, the Monoprice BT-600ANC wireless Bluetooth headphones are good options for under the $100 over-ear headphones category. They are good decent ANC features and great passive isolation. These affordable headphones also offer Bluetooth 5.0, 40 hours of playtime, aptX-HD audio & ACC support, hybrid active noise cancellation, ambient sound mode, smart touch control, and also carry case included in the package.

I’m just first trying the Monoprice headphones, not too bad but also better than expected. The Monoprice BT-600ANC delivers good sound and crystal clear call quality. Bluetooth 5.0 gives a stable connection and is solid in the range of 10 meters, without any obstacle. The BT-600ANC is hybrid active noise-canceling headphones that come at under $100. So the ANC is not as good as some pricier noise-canceling headphones, such as Sony’s mid-range WH-XB910N. What is something that I like and don’t in these active noise-canceling headphones, let’s go to the detail of the Monoprice BT-600ANC review.

Monoprice BT-600ANC Review – Design
Although most construction is plastic and lightweight (just 283g), the Monoprice BT-600ANC is enough solid and packed with features that normally come with more expensive ANC headphones.
The earcups padded with soft material and covered with leatherette-wrapped let you not fatigue your ears for listening to music for a long session. This design yield great passive isolation.
The headband is decent-padding and not too thick. The earcups are adequate clamping force makes the headphones still stay firmly on my head.
Almost forget! the BT-600ANC is also designed to be foldable to use less space in the bag and also the headband is adjustable. Very comfortable for traveling.
Monoprice BT-600ANC – Controls & Touch Pad
On the left earcups, there is a USB-C charging port and also LED status for charging. The outside of the right earcups is a touchpad to control volume (swipe up & down), change tracks (triple tap quickly for next track/four taps go to back), double-tap quickly to play, and pause. You can also answer by double tap and touch and hold to reject the call.
On the side of the right earcups also where are placing three physical buttons. First for ANC (on/off) and ambient sound mode. The next button (middle) for power on/off. The third button is work for Bluetooth pairing.
The Monoprice BT-600ANC also provides a 3.5mm cable jack for wired use.
How well do they produce sound and noise cancellation?
Honestly, the noise-canceling of the Monoprice BT-600ANC is mediocre but leaning towards good. These active noise-canceling headphones can block almost background noise and are better than several pairs of headphones in this price tag.
The Monoprice BT-600ANC provides three different sound profiles.
- Active noise cancellation mode
- Ambient sound mode
- Standard mode – is just passive isolation
The standard mode is both ANC and ambient mod turned off, which is clean as well. The BT-600ANC also provides a voice prompt for setting up or changing mode. So you will get voice warnings when you activate them. The good thing is you will know the Monoprice BT-600ANC stays in which mode and is also easy to switch mode.
The ANC is very impressive that can cancel outside noise up to 35dB. The BT-600ANC uses “Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation” which means they built-in both internal and external microphones to the best performance to reduce the ambient noise. Due to this headphones is well and have thick padding, so even though turned ANC off the earcup still can be good at blocking background noise such as talking of people around. And also better than several ANC headphones in the same price range.
All in the world, there is no completely perfect, the Monoprice BT-600ANC as well. They are by no means the best and also the worst in class. You will hear a bit of distortion when cranking up the volume, especially since the treble has compromised quality. However, the bass still is strong with a 40mm dynamic driver.
