Are you searching for over-ear headphones that are decent in terms of noise-canceling and come at an affordable price? There are several over-ear headphones on the online market, such as the Anker Soundcore Life Q20+, the Falwedi S6, and many more. The SuperEQ S1 is one of the lists of affordable and decent active noise cancellation headphones. How about these headphones, and what is your answer? Let’s check out the SuperEQ S1 review.

SuperEQ S1 Review – The Design

SuperEQ S1 review

The SuperEQ S1 is available in two colors: black-red and white-red. The overall design is quite simple and beautiful. The red on the beneath of the headband is seamlessly contrasting with the white or black housing and looks quite beautiful.

The construction is mostly strong plastic, but there is a thin sheet of metal in the inner core of the headband. Due to almost all materials being plastic, the SuperEQ S1 is quite lightweight. They can be folded inward to be easy to contain in the bag and convenient for a commute.

The earcup with ultra-soft protein leather and memory foam padding fits snugly over your ears, which is quite thick and offers a super softness suite for listening to music for a long session. I listened to music with the SuperEQ S1 active noise-canceling headphones for a few hours and also didn’t feel any fatigue or squeezing in my ears at all.

Furthermore, the SuperEQ S1 also has an adjustable headband to fit and secure your head. So, no worries, no matter what shape your head is.

There are four buttons on the right earcups; separately, one button is for on/off and controls ANC features. The other three buttons are power buttons, volume control, and playback control.

SuperEQ S1 Affordable Noise-Canceling Headphones – Battery Life

SuperEQ S1 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling headphones

The SuperEQ S1 is impressive in terms of battery life. The company claims that the SuperEQ S1 Hybrid ANC headphones provide a maximum playtime of up to 45 hours. Is it really? No, I can’t specify the maximum playtime because there are other factors that are relevant. Depending on volume, ANC, or Bluetooth. But one thing that can be said is that it has a very long playing time. I used these affordable noise-canceling headphones to listen to music for 3–4 hours a day for a week without charging and with no sign of low battery. That makes me very satisfied with the battery life.

Unfortunately, the charging port is not type C and also does not support a fast charge. The full charging time is around 2 hours via micro USB.

All in all, if you are concerned about the battery life of a new pair of headphones, the SuperEQ S1 hybrid active noise-canceling headphones could be a good option.

Sound Quality and Active Noise Cancellation

SuperEQ S1 - Where to buy

Surely, over-ear headphones with this price tag do not have perfect sound quality. It is not a good option for top-level audiophiles or high-end listeners. But compared to similar items like Srhythm NiceComfort 95 Hybrid ANC headphones, the sound performance is very similar. The NCi5 supports aptX-LL, but the SuperEQ S1 does not. Some listeners also say the Srhythm NC95 is better than the SuperEQ S1 at blocking outside noise. However, all of these depend on the listening lifestyle of each person.

The sound quality is quite good for general listeners. The bass is pretty deep and strong, but not overly hyped.

The ANC is quite good, but not the best. I can still hear some noise while turning on ANC. That’s because, generally, the ANC system blocks low-frequency noise and does not have any results for high-frequency sound. However, if you are in a very noisy place, you still hear some external noise even though you are turning on the active noise cancellation features. This over-ear headset is an affordable active noise-cancel headphone. So, I can’t highly expect them to be perfect. But it works fine and is quite satisfactory, considering the price that you paid.

That’s why it makes me understand that the Bose QC45 or Sony WH-1000XM4 are leading active noise cancellation headphones, but the price is much more expensive.

The sound quality is quite good for general listeners. The bass is pretty deep and strong, but not overwhelming. You may experience a little loss of audio quality if you use wireless mode. The wired mode offers better quality sound, although not as convenient as wireless and may be a bit rowdy.

SuperEQ S1 Hybrid ANC headphones – Final Verdicts

At the end of the SuperEQ S1 review, I just said that these wireless hybrid ANC headphones do not give the best sound. The sound quality is so-so, and the deep bass is pretty good. In terms of sound quality, the SuperEQ S1 is not ideal for high-end audiophiles. They are ideal for general listeners who value price and comfort. Because the SuperEQ S1 has moderate audio quality and comes at quite a cheap price.
