OontZ Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen Review

One of the cheap Bluetooth speakers and decent better than price point, OontZ Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen is very popular in the Bluetooth speaker market. These cheap Bluetooth speakers also are very popular and are Amazon’s top 10 best sellers. Oontz has some products which are popular in Amazon’s best sellers for several months such as Angle 3, Angle Solo. I also know that the Oontz Angle 3 ultra, the performance has been improved from its predecessor, Angle 3, and Angle 3 Plus.

In this Oontz Angle 3 Ultra review, we will mention the significant features of this Bluetooth speaker under 50 dollars (sometimes down to 40 dollars). We will point to some drawbacks and advantages which we have noticed in actual.

OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Review – Triangle Design and Control

The design is still not diff from previous models, which is still a triangle design (looks like a long triangle pyramid). The most of material is plastic. The outer is unremovable aluminum to protect the grille Speaker driver inside. All edges of Angle 3 Utrla are rubber to prevent slipping. Angle 3 Ultra comes in 2 colors (black or white), but sometimes Amazon is available in one color.

Both full-range drivers are sitting on the side and protected by the aluminum grille. Due to the OontZ design, the drivers are placed on the front side, Therefore, the sound cannot be heard in all directions (not delivered 360-degree). But it is comfy because you can place the speaker vertically or horizontally. Recommend that should place horizontally for better stereo separation.

Most portable Bluetooth speakers design control buttons located on the top, but the manufacturer of Angle 3 Ultra (Cambridge Soundworks) design to be different. They place the control panel on the right side of the speaker. On the control panel, there is the volume (+/-), play button, next and back button, and power on and off also with a Bluetooth pairing button with a light indicator that comes on blue when Bluetooth is on and red blinking to tell the power is low. All control buttons are protected with rubber which has a soft feel for their operation.

There’s no remote control, that is one of the bad things that I don’t like. It would be more convenient if they come with remote control.

All inputs are located on the right side too, next to the control button. one AUX (3.5mm) input, and next is a micro USB charging port. They are covered and protected with a rubber flap. Even though the OontZ Angle Ultra 3 is IPX7 waterproof, they are not water-resistant in AUX mode and also when the rubberized flap does not cover.

The operation is very easy and the connections are well explained in the manual. Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen with the latest version, Bluetooth 5.0, which same as OontZ Clip, another portable speaker from OootZ. Both can works range up to 100 feet without any obstacles. Fast and great connection. The connection performance is excellent and stable within the working range as Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen claimed.

However; if used in a building or indoors with partition walls, the range is shorter obviously, due to the walls or other obstacles. But even though, this cheap portable Bluetooth speaker also offers more than 30 feet of Bluetooth range (even has wall blocking).

Bluetooth Compatibility

This portable Bluetooth speaker for under 50 bucks is also compatible with all kinds of Bluetooth devices. We try a few Bluetooth devices such as iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S10, and Lenovo Laptop with Windows 10 OS. However; there are still many devices that I haven’t tried with this Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen speaker, but according to specs, the company claims. It supports many Bluetooth devices such as Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, iPad, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Note, Smartphones, Macs, computers, Laptops, and tablets.

Portable Bluetooth Speaker Under 40  – Battery Life

When it comes to battery life, we are very impressive. If adjust the volume to 50%, the speaker can offer up to 20 hours according to the company’s claim. At the full volume, they can offer less than 10 hours, 8 – 10 hours approximate.

For full charge needs 6 to 7 hours by charge via USB port.

OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Review – The Sound Performace

The sound quality, we can not forget to talk about when we want to portable Bluetooth speaker review. Honestly, we were impressed with the sound quality in terms of loudness. The loudness is over its speaker’s size. This small speaker also has a pretty tight bass but can not compare to the expensive wireless speaker like Bose or JBL which of course Bass must be stronger. The mid is sweet and very detailed. The treble is decent and clear even adjusting the volume to almost max.

They are not good for stereo separation but if you pair 2 speakers together (this model is supported) and use them in stereo mode, they will give much better.
