Skullcandy Sesh Evo Review – Short words
Skullcandy Sesh Evo Review: Budget-friendly wireless earbuds are fair for neutral listening. They are a nice design and adequate comfortable fit, the weight vier little. You can wear them for running or working out outdoor. These cheap wireless earbuds under $50 come with an IP55 rating for dust and water splashes and also resist sweat as well. They also have good build quality even though. However, these are not audiophile earbuds, so the sound is not perfect. But if you just buy the Skullcandy Sesh Evo for general listening to music and calls, they are well-suited for you.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo
True wireless earbuds, built-in Tile Tracking, 3 EQ modes preset: music/movie/podcast, IP55,
5 hours of playtime + 15 hours with the case, rapid charge (10 mins get 2 hours), use either bud
The next one of the great and cheap Skullcandy headphones in terms of worth with affordable under $50. The Skullcandy Sesh Evo True Wireless Earbuds, are quite cheap with decent quality and also decent durable as well. How are these wireless earbuds good? There are several good things and some weaknesses about these wireless earbuds that I would like to show you in the Skullcandy Sesh Evo review. Let’s go to the detail right now.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo Review – The Design
With the colorful design you can choose up to five colors: bleached blue, true black, deep red, pure mint, and chill grey. They provide three sizes of ear gels (small, medium, and large), which let they are staying in place and secure in your ears. I use the medium size that gives a comfortable fit and is not too tight and too loose for my ears. Use either earbud can be.
The charging case is a good enough compact size. The design is the lid is open from the top. It is easy to open and close firmly, should thank strong magnet attached to the lid. There is four LED light to show the level of the battery left on the front of the case. The charging cable is USB type C and there is a USB-C port on the rear panel of the case. They provide the short USB-C charging cable included in the box too.
Can wear the Skullcandy Sesh Evo for sport?
These cheap Skullcandy wireless earbuds come with an IP55 water-proof/dust-proof rating. That means, it can withstand some splashes and some exposure to dust. So, you can wear the Skullcandy Sesh Evo wireless earbuds for some exercise that is not too hard. I use them while running and fitness. They are stable and fit in my ears. These wireless earbuds never fall out of my ears. I’m a person who sweats quite a bit. So not sure can these headphones withstand overwhelmed sweaty. But one thing is for sure, these cheap Skullcandy wireless earbuds can’t stay in the water, so you can’t wear them for swimming or showering.
Oh!, don’t get the charging case wet as well.
Physical Control Button
The Skullcandy Sesh Evo comes with an actual button that is clicky, not a touch system. The clicky button is on the outer panel of the earbud. One button on each bud is multi-function, which controls some features. The left and right earpieces dominate different functions. The Sesh Evo is designed to use either bud solo, but if you use one earbud will lose some function. So using one earbud can’t control all features.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo Wireless Earbuds – How to control
- Power on – Automatic turn on when taking the bud out of the charging case
- Play/Pause media and Answering call – Tapping one of either bud
- Raise the volume – Double-tap of the right bud
- Down the volume – Double-top of the left bud
- Skip to the next song – Tap and hold down the left bud
- Back to the previous song – Tap and hold down the right bud
- Turn on your phone’s voice assistant – Tripple taps of either bud
- Change the EQ preset – four taps of either bud
For some features, you will hear a voice prompt for complete jobs such as power on and power off the earbuds, pair Bluetooth successfully, and activate the voice assistant.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo Review – Battery Life
When it comes to battery life, the Skullcandy Sesh Evo provides a somewhat disappointing standard. They provide play time just only 5 hours for one charge on earbuds. The charging case can be charged additional 3 times. The total playtime as the spec is 20 hours. This number is not exactly, depending on the volume level while you listening. So, sometimes it may be provided just only for 4.5 – 6 hours for one charging on earbuds. And many customers complain about the battery is not good. So if you focus on battery life, the Skullcandy Sesh Evo is not right for you. There are many wireless earbuds that cheaper and provide more playtime than the Sesh Evo in the market.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo True Wireless In-Ear Earbuds – The Sound Quality
The Skullcandy Sesh Evo produces a sound profile with rather a heavy bass. The Sesh Evo delivers intense thump, boom, and ramble, so they are ideal for some genres like hard rock and hip-hop. However, sometimes I feel it’s so much bass until the sound muddies, leading to dark vocals and lead instruments sound from other genres.
The mids and highs are as not outstanding as the bass. The sound quality of Skullcandy Sesh Evo is not so good, so you can’t too expect these buds in terms of sound quality. They are not audiophile earbuds like Jabra Elite 85t or Bose QuietComfort wireless earbuds. But when compared to their price range, it offers decent sound for this price range.
Besides, the Skullcandy Sesh Evo also has 3 preset EQ modes: movie, music, and podcast.
