SoundCore Anker Life A1

True wireless earbuds, customizable sound, fast charge (USB-C), Bluetooth 5.0, 35 hours form charging case, Ideal for exercise or running with IPX7 waterproof

In this Anker Life A1 review, am going to take you through the whole thing about these best-budgeted workout earbuds. Read n to see if it is worth the money.

Soundcore by Anker has been recognized in the market for producing high-performance, high-quality earbuds and headsets in the market in a very relatively low price range. The IPX7 waterproof Anker Life A1 Bluetooth earphones come with superb stereo sound quality and bass.

Anker Life A1 comes with three custom modes. In other words, the earbuds provide you with three special modes that can not only enhance your music, podcast, or audiobook listening experience but also let you enjoy Bass Booster modes and parties.

The earbuds include an IPX7 specialized waterproof feature, which allows you to watch your favorite music or podcasts in any wet atmospheric phenomenon. In addition, Bluetooth v5.0 technology in the Soundcore Life A1 allows it to be paired instantly with low latency.

The earbuds are equipped with long battery life. Soundcore by Anker Life A1 earbuds can operate for 9 hours on a single charge. On top of that, it offers 35 hours of complete playtime through the case.

If we talk about the case, it comes with fast charging feature. In addition, it allows you to recharge the charging case in two ways. The main way is to recharge with the standard method via a USB cable. Apart from that, the charging case also supports wireless charging.

Design and Comfort

The earbud’s design is similar to the Spirit Dot 2 and Life Dot 2 of Anker Soundcore, quite large in size and has sport wings that Anker provides three different sizes. You can choose the best-fit choice for your ears and ensure it will not fall out while running or other movement activities. However; the Anker Life A1 is not the most comfortable earbuds. With ear wings, slight pressure may occur if wear them for a long time. One thing that I feel annoy is the white LED light flashes while wearing the Life A1 for listening to music in the dark place such as in the bedroom at night. That’s useless and annoying.

It is surprising and disappointing that the Life A1 can’t return a previous song. I just encountered the first time that the earbud was designed to be forward-only, which cannot be going back to the previous song.

IPX7 waterproof to ensure you can listen to music with the Life A1 while showering. It’s also can withstand the rain too.

Battery Life – up to 35 hours

When talking about battery life/playtime, average playtime of up to 8 – 9 hours on a single charge. Total playtime with charging case lasts up to almost 35 hours, that great for a long flight. It’s also come with the feature of fast charging: 10 minutes of charging gets additional 1.5 hours of playtime.

How The Life A1’s Call Quality?

Once it comes to the call quality, it’s no so good and spotty preferably you are in a place noisy. Maybe your voice is muffled and the ambient sound is louder than your voice. However; if you are in the house or in a place free from noise. The call sound quality is quite clear. All in all, the Anker Soundcore Life A1 is not ideal for people who use wireless earbuds for calls regularly.

Sound Quality Of Anker Life A1

I’m extremely meticulous when it comes to the headphones’ sound quality. And I’m not disappointed in terms of the sound quality. The Anker Life A1 is the best-sounding economical earbuds. It provides three custom sound modes.

  • The first, Signature sound offers a balanced sound and ideal for any kind of song.
  • The next, Bass Booster that great for people who bass lovers. This mode provides a strong and deep bass.
  • The last, Podcast focus on mids and enhanced the mids for podcast and audiobooks.

The sound instruments are crisp. The soundstage is moderate and does not give a clear sense of the distance between each instrument. The vocals are clear and not muffled, if you like listening to acoustic music you should choose Signature Sound mode. I feel that it give mood music is comfortable. The Bass is fantastic when you choose Bass Booster sound mode, with the sound of a heavy drum and not too much.

However; the sound quality of Anker SoundCore Life A1 is not an audiophile. But it is good enough and is better than other cheap wireless earbuds.

Another similar wireless earbud from Anker Soundcore, the Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2, both are well-balanced sound with 8mm triple-layer dynamic drivers. But, the sound signature is an Expertly-Tuned Sound as Anker Sonndcore Life P2, the Life P2 is wireless earbuds with stem design.
