Philips has reputation in the electronic gadgets field for a long time. I have written a review on Philips headphones: SHP9500, SHP9600, Fidelio X3, and Fidelio X2HR in the best headphones under $200 review. The latest that I’m writing is the Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship review and will show you why I choose these wireless active noise-canceling headphones.

Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship Review – The design

Philips Fidelio L3 review

The round shape earcups and quite big but not too weight and not too light (1 pound/0.45 kg). The standard design of Philips’ headphones, looks sturdy and hardy. At the first glance, a bulky structure but looks solid and durable.

The Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship is well-built and they are hefty pair of wireless headphones. There is an aluminum ring around the earcups and outstanding floating beautifully. It feels fabulous and makes the Fidelio L3 have a very distinct character and differ from the other headphones. The two-tone finish on the headphones looks elegant and seamlessly beautiful.

The earcup is covered with Scottish Muirhead leather with memory-foam cushions that lets always fit comfortably while wearing. That’s let the headphones look good and smart. The earpads do not give a feel warm around the ears. But for some, wearing for a long time May cause ear fatigue and not a comfy ear, which depends on head shape.

The clamping force is decent not too tight and loose. I can feel that the headphones are firmly on my head. The beneath of the headband is padded with a comfy material, while the top is wrapped with a material similar to PU leather.

Philips Fidelio L3 Review – Physical Button and Touch Controls

There are physical buttons on the earcups, power button, ANC/pass-through, and mic button respectively (left to right). Besides, there is also USB type C connectivity for charging and an audio 3.5mm jack too.

The Fidelio L3 Flagship comes with stealthy touch-sensitive controls on the back of earcups. You can easily control the music (play/pause and next/previous track), receive/reject/end call, and control volume up/down with a swipe of your fingers.

Excellent Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation

Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship - Hybrid Active Noice Cancellation Pro+

In this price tag (around $350 and sometimes the amazon has a promotion which down price to $250, the price varies on to the time), the active noise cancellation is one of the expectations from the headphones. Philips knows this issue, so the Fidelio L3 Flagship is provide excellent active noise cancellation. Most outside noises are blocked and let you immerse in your music world. The Philips Fidelio L3 can cancel the sound like a train, the engine of an airplane, or noisy conversation and greatly fade these sounds. I’m very surprised when I take the headphones off and acknowledge how loud the environment is around. The active noise-canceling of the Fidelio L3 is quite spectacular.

Awareness – Perceive the sounds of the outside world

Fidelio L3 Flagship Review

The Awareness feature brings the outside sound back to you. It’s good clarity and clear. Which lets you know the sound of warning announcements, car horns, or the sound of talking to people around you. You can customize the ambient sound mode with a slider via the Philips Headphones app (slide through the various levels of the denseness of the bright). The good thing is the Philips Headphones app can also have the option to choose to focus on the conversation sound.

How Does The Sound Quality of Fidelio L3 Do?

When it comes to the sound performance, I think it’s private taste. Each prefers not the same. The Fidelio L3 is closed-back headphones that are different from Fidelio X3, which is an open-back design. The sound performance is quite a tight bass and impactful without being overpowering. The mid sound is balanced and smooth, while the highs sparkle with complete detail. The Philips Fidelio L3 flagship has a 40mm driver delivering the overall sound are natural and balanced sound.

However; due to the closed-back design, make the Fidelio L3 flagship does not have a wide soundstage. So there is no sound leakage even if you listen to music at a high volume.

These headphones also support hi-res audio in wired mode only.

Philips Fidelio L3 Review – Final Verdicts

Thanks for reading the Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship review until this. The Fidelio L3 are hybrid active noise-canceling headphones, which work very well in terms of blocking noise. The overall sound is quite good and balanced. Tight bass. The design is good-looking and quite modern. But the size is a bit bulky. However; they can fold flat earcups to reduce space in the backpack as well.
