SoundPEATS Air 3 Review – Short words
SoundPEATS Air 3 review: I just say that these truly wireless earbuds are quite cheap and have good decent sound quality. You can a bit adjust EQ via the app. They are mini and easy for portability with decent battery life, up to 5 hours on earbuds, and up to 17 – 18 hours including the charging case. If you are looking for budget-friendly wireless earbuds with good decent overall quality, buy the SoundPEATS Ari 3, I think you will like it.
SoundPEATS Air 3 True Wireless Earbuds
half-in-ear design, 14.2mm driver size, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX-Adaptive, the game mode (low latency), chipset: Qualcomm QCC3040, built-in 4 cVc8.0 noise-canceling microphones, playtime: 5 hours (single charge)/17.5 hours (with charging case), in-ear detection, compatible SoundPEATS app
SoundPEATSs’ headphones are a mid-range and relatively cheap. Most of all are cheap and under 50 USD. So The SoundPEATS wireless earbuds are right for those who have a limited budget. The SoundPEATS Air 3 is one of the cheap wireless earbuds that I talking about today. The build quality and sound performance are quite good for their price. Compact in design and lightweight. There are many good things in these tiny earbuds, let’s check the detail in this SoundPEATS Air 3 review, right now.
SoundPEATS Air 3 Wireless Earbuds Mini Bluetooth – Great Features
- More personalized settings in the SoundPEATS app such as customizing EQ or adjusting volume.
- Auto-pause the music when taking off the earbuds
- Dual cVc 8.0 noise-canceling microphones in each earbud
- Bluetooth 5.2 with QCC3040 chipset and support Gaming mode with an aptX-Adaptive codec that delivers low latency, as low as 60ms
- IPX5 water-resistant rating
SoundPEATS Air 3 Review – The Design
The SoundPEATS Air 3 has a typical AirPods design. There is a compact size for both the charging base and earbuds as well as 10% smaller than SoundPEATS TrueAir 2 and TrueAir 2 Plus. Their charging case is only 1.87 inches tall and 1.94 inches wide. The charging case is vertical design, which is not like the case of TrueAir2 is a horizontal design. You can feel they are quite lightweight (1.16 ounces) because they are mostly made of plastic. Even though they are lightweight and feel cheap but overall design looks nice. The case charge comes with a matte color finish. There are available in black, purple, white, and pink (at the moment I am reviewing). On the front of the charging case, there is a multi-color LED light to point out the remaining the battery
There are no silicone tips attached to earbuds. The stem is moderately long and not too short with the SoundPEATS logo on the top, which looks pretty good. This design of Air 3 earbuds is a half-in-ear form factor. There is no silicone tip attached at the end of the earbuds. So, they may feel it’s not a comfortable fit and a pretty loose but airy fit for some. However; the way to wear it is like other general half-in-ear earbuds, after putting the earbud into the ears, just slightly rotate the earbud to get the most comfortable angle with the microphone down. Nevertheless, the earbuds will be hung in your ears without silicone tips and this means they do not block any outside noise. You will hear your surrounding while listening to music. But the good thing is safety for wearing the SoundPEATS Air 3 and walking on a street with heavy traffic.
How about a waterproof rating?
The SoundPEATS Air 3 wireless in-ear comes with an IPX5 waterproof rating, which means you can use them for sport, working out, or running. But not recommended to wear the Air 3 while taking a bath or outdoor activities while heavy rain. The IPX5 is can prevent some water splashes, sweat, and little rain. But can’t be immersed in the water and against large amounts of water like a shower. So you can’t use them for swimming as well.
SoundPEATS Air iii Review – Connectivities
The SoundPEATS Air 3 utilizes Bluetooth 5.2 technology and also supports aptX-Adaptive codec to ensure synchronization with low latency in the gaming mode. So the Air 3 wireless earbuds can use for gaming and don’t feel latency (for some games which are not too fast-moving).
Even though the SoundPEATS Air 3 has game mode but they are not specifically designed to be a gaming headset. So my thinking, is they can be used for gaming but not for all games, especially some games with very fast animations you may feel a bit of latency between audio and video. This is just a private opinion, and I’m not a gamer.
Tap Controls
The good thing is adding to the SoundPEATS Air 3, that is in-ear detection features or auto-pause when taking the earbud out of the ears. And it will resume playing when you put the earbuds back in your ears. When it comes to controlling, the Air 3 is a touch control. The control scheme is intuitive with comprehensive for all functions.
How to control the earbuds?
Playback control
- Play or Pause the music – tap twice left or right earbuds
- Skip to the next track – tap and hold the right earbuds
- Return to the previous track – tap and hold the left earbuds
Volume control
- Volume up – One tap on the right earbuds
- Volume down – One tap on the left earbuds
Voice Assistant/Gaming mode
- Activate voice assistant – Triple tap on the right earbuds
- Activate/Deactivate low-latency gaming mode – Triple tap on the left earbuds
These SoundPEATS wireless earbuds also play in mono mode, which means you use one earbud for listening to music while the other is charging in the case. However; if you use one earbud, will lose some features control, for example, you can’t skip the song or volume up if you wear it only the right. In other words, you can’t return the song or volume down if you wear only left.
The SoundPEATS Air 3 Review – Sound Quality
The SoundPEATS Air 3 Bluetooth in-ear headphones deliver a pretty good sound quality but not excellent. The bass is full-bodied but not extreme. The mids and highs are seamlessly balanced. The sound quality is good for listening to general music whether from podcasts, laptops, or smartphones. The sound is clear but does not deliver all excellent details. You can’t expect exquisitely detailed highs from this price range of wireless earbuds. But they are good and better than many wireless earbuds at this price tag.
