Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro review: These closed-back headphones offer great neutral sound and have great sound detailed and powerful. The 45mm dynamic Tesla neodymium driver produces extremely well-balanced sound, excellent resolution and spaciousness, and also high output sound pressure level as well. The DT 1770 Pro has a very soft earpad and replaceable ear pads and headbands for long durability. This is among the great closed-back headphones and the Beyerdynamic is a very reliable manufacturer in terms of sound equipment.
Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro
Closed-back design, Studio Headphones for Mixing Mastering Monitoring, and Recording, Noise Isolation Premium sound quality, and comfortable, Single-sided and detachable cable
Beyerdynamic DT1770 Pro is designed to a closed-back style, which means it will offer better noise-isolation and bass response than DT 1990 Pro which is an open-back design. And of course, DT1770 Pro utilizes the Tesla technology neodymium drivers. So, they produce precise and completely detailed sounds. Let’s go to deep Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro review.
I have tested several headphones including Bose qc3 ii, Oppo PM3, and also Audio Technica ATH-M50X. Finally, the DT1770 Pro of Beyerdynamic headphones impressed the most. The sound performance is so great. Thanks to the wide-range frequency response, it was expansive offering clear and crisp sound, nothing was missing.
These Beyerdynamic headphones are audiophile-level headphones and are perfect for professional studio use. The high vocal has a crisp resolution and exact, and the mids are clear and crystalline pure. The bass as I mentioned before, is powerful, clearer, and stronger than Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro because DT1770 is closed-back headphones.
When it comes to image and soundstage, due to the closed-back design, the soundstage is not too wide which normally for closed-back headphones can’t beat the soundstage open-back headphones.
The aluminum structure and the cups are made of plastic. Also the adjustable support bar. The clamping force is a little tight but the soft and dual-layered memory foam padding makes this very comfortable for a long session that amazing!
However, with high-quality workmanship and sturdy material, they come at not a cheap price. Another flaw that some people don’t like is the 0.86 lbs of the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro, a real heavyweight. But for me, don’t’ feel suffer from neck pain or anything. I feel that quickly got used to the higher weight and very wearing comfort.
The closed and circumaural of DT 1770 Pro is impressive for the reduction of very high external noise. That depends on the ear cushions. These can help a lot in the studio or even all situations in which want the best possible noise isolate is important, such as in the studio recording or F.O.H. seat at a concert The pad, DT 1770 Pro provides 2 replaceable pads; leather and velour. Both pads have an impact on the efficiency of noise isolation. The leather can reduce noise up to 21dB, but velour has a noise reduction just only 18 dB.
Beyerdynamic offers a single-sided detachable cable with mini-XLR connectors and 2 cables in the box. One is a straight 3m cable terminated with a 3.5mm gold-plated stereo jack. The second is a 3m coiled cable (3.5mm gold plated stereo jack too).
For 3m cable, that depends on the viewpoint, they are either great for your job or cumbersome at most. The long cord gives you to move around freely, but it may also cause you to be annoyed as well. DT1770 is not wireless, that’s one clawback, but it’s regular for studio headphones is should come with wired for better sound.
However, you can get more short light cables just for around $15 on Amazon. That is good news and helps you to more convenience.
