Samsung Galaxy Buds Live
Wireless Earbuds Noise Canceling Headphones, spacious soundstage, unique design, maximum of playtime: 28 hours, Voice assistance (Bixby)
True wireless headphones from Samsung, a new and unique look. The Galaxy Buds Live wireless earbuds style comes with a nut-like design with interesting many features including an active noise-canceling system, which is often come with touch control comfortable wireless earbuds. What is the actual use? Will the sound be good? Is it worth paying almost $170? Let’s have a look at the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live review.
The first thing that seems attractive and gets attention from all eyes, the elegant design, and unlike any earbuds. I must say with a personal feeling that these are truly wireless earbuds with a gorgeous design and the strangest I’ve ever seen. The team got it in a mystic white shade that looks like a white pearl shade, which looks very elegant and stylish. Another interesting is that the Galaxy Buds Live doesn’t have a stem which when looking from the front seems not wearing headphones at all.
As for the material, it is light-weight plastic with a polished finish. The downside is that it gets stuck with fingerprints quite easily.
Personally, the charging case comes with the same mystic white matte plastic design as the headphones. The lid of the case is tight to a certain extent, giving it a strong feeling. There is also a magnet installed on the edge, making it feel secure when closing, not afraid of the lid opening itself. The front of the charging case has a battery indicator LED as well.

Regarding the comfort of wearing, would like to tell you that I saw it for the first time. It was very confusing because from the look I could not figure out how to wear it. But when worn correctly position, but has to be twisted a little to get the earbud into its lock. From my and family guy testing, everyone can wear it without any problem. (One note is that someone with small ears won’t be able to wear them because the size of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live is quite big ?)
Unlike the in-ear design, these headphones have to be inserted into the earholes to seal the sound. The resulting in a quieter sound and better bass performance. But the Galaxy Buds Live uses a different design by wearing it like earbuds. The Galaxy Buds Live does a pretty good job. Ideal for people who don’t like stuffed headphones because they may feel compressed.
With this Buds Live design, the sound pipe sits a certain distance from the earhole, creating a much wider soundstage than you might imagine. Plus there is no stalk coming down to clutter as well.
If the convenience of Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro headphones is the ultimate in fast and convenient connection, then Galaxy Buds Live can do that. Because since receiving the earbuds from Samsung and opening the lid, the Galaxy series of Samsung smartphone next to it is up to an option to connect Buds Live as immediately. And after that just open the lid, the smartphone will automatically pair with the Galaxy Buds Live and can listen to music immediately.
But it will be noted that the slight delay in the sound. There was no problem in connection to watching movies on Netflix or YouTube. The sound in the mouth hardly felt any delay.
One thing that has to know, playing rhythm games may not be very suitable because it is hardly possible to play. (Some games can adjust the sound delay in the game)
The controls for the Galaxy Buds Live are pretty simple. With the touch bar on both sides of the earbuds, we can customize various controls through the app by tapping 1, 2, 3 times to command and touch and hold the left ear and the right side, a total of 5 commands. Unfortunately, there is no command to drag your finger to reduce the sound. But there are observations that every time we want to twists the earbuds when loose, With the fact that the touch bar is both the earbuds. Making it possible to miss hitting to stop the music often.
As for the use of calls, we can press receive calls by double-tapping and double-tapping again to hang up. Besides, the mic sound when talking is loud and clear.
Surprisingly, we’ve seen the active noise canceling feature comes into the earbuds. And as expected, the ANC system isn’t as efficient as in-ear or over- headphones. Because Buds Live’s ANC will only reduce low-band noise, such as air or fan noise. When I wear Buds Live I still hear my kids shout. I still hear my voice when speaking which helps me control loud-level.
According to the specification that Samsung has given the Galaxy Buds Live to listen to music continuously for up to 6 hours. Plus with a battery charger from the case for another 21 hours of playtime. But that has tried for nearly two weeks by most of the listen while walking to work and listen to some music during the day. It can be used without needing to charge at all. For adding power to the case, it will use the USB-C port to plug in the back of the case.
Coming to the point where everyone is most interested that is sound, the Galaxy Buds Live comes with a 12 mm dynamic driver, tuned from AKG. Just like the Galaxy Buds Plus earbuds, in-ear type. But the interesting thing is that Buds Live is a type of earbuds that give a very different sound character.
Usually, the bass area is something that can be done very easily. Because just tuning the EQ to high to bring out the low-end sound to make it louder. But the truth is, the bass is much more subtle, with the Galaxy Buds Live being a type of earbuds without a rubber stopper, so these in-ear headphones don’t completely block the user’s ears. As a rule of thumb, the bass maybe not good and leak some.
Quite surprised, because the bass was with full impact and very detailed and massive bass. For example, Travis Scott’s “The Plans” which start hard bass on both sides, interspersed with breathing sound. These active noise-canceling earbuds from Samsung delivering a clear low-end sound while we can still clearly hear the sound in the background.
The mids sound such as vocals to various synthesis sounds made out clearly soft and warm. The position of the mids will not appear very front and spread around. It provides good detail throughout the mid-high and mid-low. If coupled with the clean bass as we mentioned above, it promotes the sound to have a very good dynamic that increases the sound louder. The sound does not break but feels full and more details.
It is very amazing because the highs of the Galaxy Buds Live do quite well. It’s a high-profile sound and not too sharp. Probably, with an open design, the highs have a wide and not-stuffy feeling. With the EDM songs with a lot of audio components, we can still hear the highs in the distance. Sometimes being covered by the mids and the lows.
It is considered to be the hero of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live because until now, the great point that makes me feel the most impressive is a very wide soundstage (a lot of ?). Because the earbuds are open-design that deliver the sound very spacious and help you can split the left and right musical with precision. The soundstage is so spacious that sometimes when I listening to a song, I think looks like listen from the speakers. Sometimes listening to a song with a lot of synthetic sounds feels like the sound was quite floating in midair.

Pros
Cons
The Galaxy Buds Live from Samsung is one of the wireless earbuds which dare to design to unique. With its bold design in a unique ear-shape, combined with sound quality that exceeds the standard for earbuds.
But one of the flaws that I can feel is the ANC. The active noise-canceling, which I can feel the distinguishes relatively little less. Because they are non-sealing earbuds like in-ear or over-ear headphones.
For anyone who likes earbuds style that provides a wide soundstage and comfort and not stuffy, you must try the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you for reading the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live review to the end, and I hope readers will find this article helpful in deciding to buy the headphones that are right for you.
