Moreover; the design is good for outdoor with a silicone lanyard and is durable with an IPX7 waterproof rating. All in all, the Tribit StromBox is a worthwhile portable speaker and justice for this price range.

Tribit is a moderately brand portable speaker and headphones with affordable. And there are some Tribit products that get quite best sellers on Amazon.com. Tribit has a reputation for portable Bluetooth speakers and there are many items that get pretty high popularity. The Tribit StormBox is one of these and is pretty popular. This is a good portable speaker for under $60, which I think it’s worth buying. However; just read the Tribit StormBox review before making a decision. Let’s go now.

Tribit StormBox Review – Design to Stylish and Solid

Tribit StormBox Review

The Tribit StormBox speaker comes in hand size and is easily portable with a cylinder shape. Around the cylinder is material like mesh fabric. There are large control buttons on the front, which are ‘volume +’ and volume -‘ buttons. Both buttons use mathematical symbols ‘+’ and ‘-‘. In the middle between the two buttons is a multi-function button. There is a label “Tribit” at the bottom of the mesh fabric. All buttons and the “Tribit” label are white rubber which contrasts beautifully with the background color of the mesh fabric of the speaker and looks prominent.

There is a silicone lanyard on the top edge, which lets it easy to grab and portable. It’s IPX7 waterproof rated, which means you can place the speaker in the water for a while without any damage. The Tribit claim that the StormBox speaker can withstand up to 30 minutes in water 3 feet deep. But I daren’t test it. Just drop it in the water for a while and the speaker still works normally, nothing was damaged.

The Tribit StormBox Bluetooth portable speaker can withstand rain and water. Don’t worry if you would like to take the speaker for showering or take it to the poolside for listening to while swimming.

Tribit StromBox Bluetooth Portable Speaker –  Control and Connectivity

Tribit StormBox Protable Speaker Review

The control buttons are placed in the front as I mentioned. The middle button is a multi-function button that is easy to press and good response. How to control this button? Let’s see the below

  • Single press – to play and pause the song/to answer and end calls
  • Double press – to skip to the next song/reject calls
  • Triple press – to back to the previous song

On the back, there is a power button, which glows when the Tribit StormBox is turned on. Next down, are the four dot lights for the battery indicator. The Bluetooth and XBass button is placed next down. At the bottom, you will see a rubber plate that covered and protect a 3.5mm AUX port, and a USB charging port is located inside. This rubber plate can protect water if it’s completely closed. So keep in mind that, before you take the speaker take a bath with you or use it in the rain, make sure this rubber plate to completely closed.

Tribit StormBox Review – Battery Life

Tribit StormBox Wireless Bluetooth Portable Speaker - 20 Hours of Playtime

According to its specification, the Tribit StormBox Bluetooth portable speaker offers 20 hours. That is true if you don’t turn on XBass mode and use a volume level of around 50% throughout your listening to music or podcasts or use it as a speakerphone. I don’t know, if your turn on XBass mode and use volume is more than 70% throughout use, will get how much of playtime. I am so much sure in this condition, you will get playtime of fewer than 10 hours.

Nevertheless; 20 hours is great playtime for a portable speaker and it has more playtime than many other portable speakers on the market.

Cheap Portable Speaker Under $60 – The Sound Quality

Tribit StormBox Bluetooth Portable Speaker review

The Tribit StormBox is a cheap wireless portable speaker and like other cheap portable headphones, the sound quality is just mediocre and good enough for listening to music. I know, I can’t expect stunning sound from cheap portable headphones. The sound doesn’t like a full-sized stereo from the real stereo speakers like S3000 Pro or S2000MK iii from Edifier. 24 watts of The Tribit StormBox is not very loud but enough for small parties such as pool parties or small group camp parties. It has omnidirectional sound, which is pretty good and fair for its price.

The StomrBox responds to bass lovers by adding a feature bass boost, which says “XBass”. However; you will feel the difference when this feature is turned on. The bass is more bumpy and lets music more fun too, especially when you are enjoying a party. But the XBass cause some degrades the sound quality as well.

Personal thinking, if your main point is the sound quality and must be excellent sound, the Tribit StromBox portable speaker isn’t suited for you. This just provides mediocre sound quality and it sounds fun if you don’t think too much.

Oh! almost forgot, the Tribit StormBox has feature party mode. It means if you buy two Tribit StormBox portable speakers, you can connect them together for true stereo sound. You will feel the real stereo sound, which delivers better than one Tribit Strombox speaker.
