Beoplay HX Review: One of the most comfortable wireless headphones. They come with adjustable ANC levels. The Beoplay HX is not the best in a class of active noise-canceling headphones, it can’t beat the WH-1000XM5 from Sony or the 700 NC and QC45 from Bose. But these Beoplay headphones are still pretty good. And they look more impressive as well. I know not everyone is willing to spend a lot of bucks on these wireless headphones, so think a lot and be careful before buying the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX. If you can pay this amount of money for the most comfortable headphones, you will not be disappointed with the sound quality and supreme comfort of wearing them.
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX
Adjustable and hybrid noise-canceling, 40mm neodymium magnets drivers, smart touch control, playtime: 30 hours, premium materials, customizable sound EQ, extremely comfortable, 4 x MEMS for voice mics, 4 x dedicated MEMS mic for ANC
Still continuously developing and newly released with famous brands like B&O or Bang & Olufsen. Highly trusted in sound quality and luxurious material, whether H95 or H9 3rd Gen from Beoplay. The new item that we are going to review is the Beoplay HX extremely comfortable wireless headphones with exceptional active noise cancellation. How? We are going to dig deep into the Beoplay HX review, right now.
The Beoplay HX wireless ANC headphones have a good exterior and expensive looks, as well as high-grade build quality with premium material. The seamless combination of lambskin leather, aluminum, titanium, cowhide leather, polymer, fabric, soft memory foam, and good-quality plastics makes the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX the most comfortable wireless ANC headphones. Every part can feel opulent and excellent. The Beoplay HX feels premium and great in the hands.
The design looks very luxurious and is also supremely comfortable, soft around the ears, and lightweight (just 10 ounces, or 283.5 grams). ฺฺ So, they are not burdensome to wear, even for hours. The pity of Beoplay HX is that they can’t fold inward. But they come with a nice carrying case that can protect your headphones, even though it does not save space in the bag. For now, you will be able to choose to buy them in up to four colors (on which I’m writing): black anthracite, dark maroon, sand, and timber. All of the colors have elegant and expensive looks, as you would expect from any Bang & Olufsen product.
There are a few controls around the edges of the earcups, including Bluetooth, multi-function, and ANC buttons (which let you switch between active noise cancellation and transparent mode).
They provide softness around your ears. As well as comfortable over your head. With their weight of only 283.5g, I can wear the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX for hours on end without feeling any fatigue around the ears or even my head. However, the Beoplay HX comes with a 40mm driver size that might be too small for those who have large ears. That means these most comfortable headphones might not be comfortable for some. I found that they are not as big as a lot of other over-ears, so this is not ideal for everyone. Especially if you have a big head and ears, you should look for other headphones.
The premium materials make these Beoplay headphones seem very sturdy. Every part of the headphones is not easy to break or damage. However, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX wireless ANC headphones don’t come with an official IP rating. That means they do not resist water, and they also do not resist dust as well. Unfortunately, such high-end wireless headphones like the Beoplay HX are not waterproof and dustproof. Most of the wireless over-ear headphones don’t have an IP rating as well. So you should be careful while wearing them on a wet day and away from water.
The Beoplay HX wireless ANC headphones come with easy and intuitive touch control. This is how it controls the outside of the earcups.
It may take a little time to get used to the gesture controls on these headphones. When familiar, you will feel at ease with these gesture controls.
To exceed expectations, the Beoplay HX uses a big battery that provides you with playtime for up to 40 hours when turning off the ANC mode. Or even turn on the ANC mode, and you will get up to 35 hours of playtime. This is pretty impressive for the BeoPlay headphones. The approximate charging time is around 3 hours for full charging.
At first, I tried this can. Oh my god! The sound is sweet-soft, with deep bass and crystal-clear trebles. The overall sound of Beoplay HX delivers excellent sound performance. The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX provides top-notch sound quality with a well-balanced sound. Moreover, you can adjust the equalizer via the app to what you like.
The bass is precise and pleasant, deep and soft, and also not too overwhelming. The edges of low-end sound are nice and straight, and they do not drone or overhang. The thumping bass does not distort other instrument sounds or even vocals.
The mids are clear and give every detail of sound. The treble is not too high and delivers an end-to-end sound that is clear and crisp.
The soundstage is spacious and can separate instrument sounds very well. The noise cancellation is good but does not equal top ANC headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM5 or Bose 700 noise cancellation. However, it can’t beat the WH-1000XM5, but it is close to it.
The Beoplay HX’s sound quality, to sum up, is beautiful, clean, crisp, and does not sacrifice any instrument. The bass is deep and soft. The instrument sound separation is fantastic.
I almost forgot that the Beoplay HX has a customizable sound EQ. However, the sound quality all depends on you adjusting the EQ via the app too. For some genres, you might adjust the equalizer to match that genre’s music as well.
The sound quality is a personal feeling, but I so much like the Beoplay HX’s sound signature.
