Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Review – Audiophile Dynamic Closed-Back Headphones

 Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 – Our Short Words

The Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 review: is one of the great sounding closed-back audiophile headphones. The bass is a tight impact and overall is good. The high is very extended and the mids are medium level. When it comes to soundstage and imaging, the ATH-W5000 have pretty good soundstage for these closed-back design, there is a log of air between notes. Comfortable, these headphones feel very comfortable and good seal (depend on the head size). If you are small head size, it may be loose and not tight, not to a good fit, and maybe make not comfort and not secure fit.

closed-back design, audiophile dynamic wooden style, lightweight with magnesium alloy frame & 3D wing support provide stable, double air dumping system, earpads cushions in leather feature, high-quality 8N-OFC (oxygen-free copper)

Feature packed and Crispy Sound performance

The Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 headphones have been available for several years now, and they have remained famous among all seasoned and young audiophiles to this time. You can tell that these headsets have been around for a while just because of their widely duplicated design.

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000

While timeless in several ways, the Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 cannot match several best audiophile headphones’ personalities and styles. We do not think that is really an issue since we pick headphones based on their sound performance – not looks.

And you better believe that the ATH W5000 sounds remarkable. The 53mm drivers are equipped with a special neodymium magnet system made uniquely for this, featuring a magnetic circuit with high-notch magnetic characteristics.

Ultra Comfortable

The ebony housing provides a distinct shade to the sound of the ATH W5000 and generously cushioned leather ear pads give long-run listening comfort.

The weight is medium, boasts a frequency response of 5Hz-45 kHz, three m oxygen-free copper, wiring with a gold plated 6.3 mm plug, an impedance of forty OHAMS, and are really sensitive to 102 dB – not the loudest headphone we have heard. But we will come to that shortly – but they’ll handle power up to 2,000 MW at 1 kHz.

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Review – Performance

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Review

Unusual when is the Audio-Technica ATH-W5000’s delicate bass presence, the subtle bass was the initial thing we noticed. What is present is a very tight low end that does not interfere with mid-range, offering the mids a super clear and less heavy voice.

Kick drums will beat your skull with the power of Chunk Norris high cut to the jaw. This is in special stark contrast with DENON’s AH 500s which create an exceptional, highly deep as that will keep shaking eyes from their sockets.

ATH-W5000 Review – Pros & Cons

  • Strong build quality.
  • Crispy sound with low distortion.
  • Rugged, red velour-lined storage case.
  • Smooth performance.
  • Excellent performance at such a decent price tag.

  • For some users hard to fit on your head.
  • No accessories.
  • Bass response is a bit weak by some standards.

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 – Bottom line

The ATH-W5000 Audiophiles headphones are endowed with great sound characteristics and stunning, cutting edge design which earns them recognition as a few of the best Audiophile Headphones available today. When compared to rival’s headsets piece the SENNHEISER HD 800, we found sonically they held up extremely well.

Furthermore, due to the closed-backed shape, the ambient sound dramatically decreased when compared to HD 800. We recommended you try a pair before you make an ultimate decision. Provided they fit, we think that you will really enjoy this pair of Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 very much indeed.
