Digital wireless technology offers signal transmission clear and accurate, Support Analog/Digital Audio input, Multi receiver/transmission

During the Sennheiser RS 175 review, I noticed it has a similar build and design as the previous model RS 165 but a sound little worse for critical listening. They do not do as well with instruments and voices, and they have a bit too much bass. They are also not stylish enough to use anyplace but ideal for indoors without obstacles for the view of the transmitter. On the upside, they are comfortable and have very low latency for watching movies.

Headphones Design

Sennheiser RS 175 RF review

Some reviewers say that the Sennheiser RS 175 doesn’t sleek design, but I don’t think so. I’m not feeling disappointed with the design or RS175 from Sennheiser, they have a great design and a shape that looks strong. The cups are about 4” tall and shape a vaguely upside-down teardrop form, but a few of the edges have been flattened which makes it look like the pentagonal form.

Comes to the earcups, the full control button (Bass, Surround, and volume (+/-)) is placed on the outside of the right cups. The most of earcup’s body is black and just only a slot of dark gray ring around that textured shaped plate. This gives the Sennheiser RS 175 a stylish look.

The design to bulky and huge which takes away from other headsets. The cups are 4 inches tall like as we mentioned before and almost 2.5 inches thick which looks the fattest spot. These thick earcups make feeling bulky and huge on your head if compared to other models.

Most of the wireless and Bluetooth headphones space, even at the budget-friendly end of the price range, consists of reasonably thin headsets. While they do make some attempts to design modern, they fall flat in execution.

Sennheiser RS 175 RF – Charging Dock

The front of the charging dock has 2 buttons. One to pick the level of virtual surround sound improvement and the other for bass enhancement, same as the ones on the ear cups, there is no volume control from the base of the charging dock though.

LED indicators to assist you to see the bass enhancement and virtual surround level you have picked. On the backside, from top to bottom, there is a virtual optical in port, and the audio input choice switches an analog 3.5 mm audio port and a DC input pack. Being a virtual wireless unit, sound transmission from the charging dock of headphones should be flawless.

The charging dock also feels substantial, with a very thick rubber base that stays firmly on your TV stand.

RS175s’ Battery and Playtime

The RS175 uses rechargeable AAA batteries that include in the box. The charging dock of RS175 recharge batteries will charge through the contacts on the bottom of the headband. You just place the headband on the charging dock, it will start charging auto. 18 hours of playtime, is Sennheisers’ claim, but it depends on the levels of volume. The louder the sound, the more energy it consumes, and the faster the battery runs out.

Sennheiser RS 175 RF Review – Sound

RS 175 - wireless headphones for TV

The Sennheiser RS 175 supports the frequency response of 17Hz to 22kHz, offering a decent buffer zone on either side of the complete human hearing spectrum. That’s a wide range of richness in their frequency response that offers a great feeling and fantastic experience for watching TV or playing a video game.

Besides, the RS175 is a closed dynamic transducer build with 114dB of maximum volume ability and less than 0.5% of harmonic distortion.

But in the practice, what effect do these numbers have? However, we have noticed that the headphones provide a lot of experience from a frequency response perspective. We utilized these primarily for watching movies, and the app was capturing the nuance of sound effects, dialog, and song can be hard to accomplish, and we are happy to report that each aspect of the audio design was portrayed decently.

What is more, the company has designed RS175 in surround sound mode and you can toggle between analog and digital from the right earcups or the charging dock. In my testing, digital is the best by far, with the digital I don’t hear any interference noise around me. I can say that “The RS175 is fantastic!”.

Surround sound was practically efficient for the action-packed movies we watched while testing these headphones. Also, the Sennheiser also has a bass boost choice, but we feel that it just makes the output sound a bit muddy.

The RS 175 Wireless Headphones For TV – Comfort

The Sennheiser RS175 has a similar comfortable fit as the previous model, but they are a little heavier. Like the older model, they’ve spacious ear cups that are finely well-padded.

Unfortunately, they also have a similar issue as the pressure they exert sounds your ears is perfectly distributed. So after listening to them for a while you might notice feeling a bit of soreness among your ear lobes and your jaw. It is not painfully uncomfortable, but it is not perfect either.

Durability and Build Quality

Sennheiser RS 175 Review

One thing that clearly feels is that the Sennheiser RS175 is a very luxurious pair of headphones when they place on your head and cover your ears. The thickness of the soft padding ear cushions provides a feeling of soft comfort on the ears. Including a well-built headband adjustable mechanism that helps to provide a perfect fit for your head.

Most construction is made of plastics that feel thick and sturdy. But one thing that I can notice, the locking point between each earcup and headband feels like it’s slightly locked in and making them a little rickety.

Some say that covering every foam part feels a bit like it would a bit hot after long listening periods. But I don’t feel that I use them for watching 2 movies in a row, I still feel not any warmth in my ears.
