True wireless headphones, meaning a pair of Bluetooth headphones that are not connected by a cable, are official things as millennials say. Apple has ruled this category, but players like Sennheiser, Sony, and others have joined the game. But I tripped over a serious competitor from a brand that you may not have heard of. The brand is Taotronics and wireless headphones in question are TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 Smart AI TWS Headphones. Everything about these TWS headphones you will know in this TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 review.
The TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 True Wireless Stereo Headphones deliver the latest generation audio technology and sophisticated touch control operations for everyday consumer gadgets.
The 79’s produce Hi-Fi stereo, smart (only passive) AI noise cancellation, and they come in pill-shaped USB-C magnet charging cases. Earbuds last for 8 hours on a single charge or 30 hours with a case and are rated IPX8 for improved water and dust checks.
Shoots can be automatically turned on & paired to any Bluetooth device when it is removed from the case and turned off when re-installing, and you can use one single earphone to listen to calls, music, or video content.
SAnd speaking of calls, headphones use a smart AI algorithm to block background noise to give you a clear and headache-free experience making it perfect for remote / office workers and travelers.
The Top Features of TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 Headphones
So what do SoundLiberty 79 True Wireless Headphones really offer? Apparently a lot; below are some features that satisfy or surprise me.
Why I Love SoundLiberty Earbuds 79
- USB-C charging case
- Premium Earbud Display
- Good Bass & Sound Quality
- Smart Noise Canceling
- Setting On/Off / AutoInstall
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Voice Assistant Controls
The USB-C charging Case
More and more of my devices are using the new USB-C standard, so it’s good that SoundLiberty also uses it.
USB-C allows faster charging, better transmissibility, and is easier to use because it has two sides. I also like the battery compartment because it extends the battery life to 30 hours and is fun to carry around.
This is a good pill-shaped case that is slightly wider than a few but can easily fit into your pocket. Unfortunately, it can’t be filled wirelessly, which smells but we can’t have it all, can we?
Premium Earbud Display
I like this style of earbud; they look like $200 headphones from Sony or Jabra and I make people think they are.
But comfort is another story.
The inclusion of 6 ear tips and 4 ear hooks gives you a lot of variabilities but none is quite right.
Despite that drawback, I still think these headphones will impress a lot of people, and their silver-black color matches anything. They are also much smoother for public use than AirPods … if that worries you.
Good Bass & Sound Quality
I will give the B + bass and the overall sound quality B.
They sound better than many cheaper units with good bass and treble that soar with their competitors.
They will perform well if you listen to music or videos and only a few will see the many differences between this and say Pixel Buds.
TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 Review – Smart AI Noise Canceling
This should produce 96% less ambient noise with noise reduction of up to 40dB. I cannot say whether this is accurate but I am satisfied with the level of noise reduction and isolation.
The smart AI algorithms play a role here because they block more noise than other passive noise reduction headphones. The AI also helps calls; the sounds are more isolated and some are less static.
I am not saying this is the best for calls because sometimes there are cut-offs and frequency disturbances on you or other callers but they are not overall bad.
Bluetooth 5.0
Enhancing the positive things, it’s good to see that Bluetooth 5.0 is used as a wireless standard to connect earbuds to your phone. This allows a maximum range of 30 meters, and in my experience, the TT-BH079 has a solid connection to your device after pairing correctly.
This is my preferred part about Galaxy Buds and this is a must-have Bluetooth wireless headphone feature.
Being able to bring your earbuds in/out of charging areas and automatically pairing it to your smartphone is very convenient and makes me want to use headphones more often.
The only problem is the initial setup process, which I will admit is more challenging with 79 than other Bluetooth headphones. However, after that was sorted out, everything worked fine.
Oh, and the Bluetooth range is very good; it’s one of the few things these headphones are the best compared to their competitors.
TaoTronics TT-BH079 Review – Voice Assistant Controls
I read a lot of complaints about TT-BH079 having poor connections and call quality but they work well for me. I don’t think they are worse than expensive wireless headphones for calls.
As far as activation of the voice assistant, these are not as responsive as AirPods Pro, Amazon Echo Buds, or Galaxy Buds + but they are on par with the original AirPods and Galaxy Buds.
I haven’t tried the new Pixel Buds, but I imagine Google’s new headphones are also far more responsive.

My TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 Review: Conclusion
I will give TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 True Wireless Stereo Earbuds 4 out of 5 stars.
TaoTronics is an amazing brand and I have a number of their products including their magnetic sports wireless headphones. The brand product line consistently scores 4.3 stars or better on Amazon with 1000 real customer reviews.
And you can add 79 to the stack because these earbuds produce sophisticated specifications, sound, and quality. They cost less than a third of true top-end wireless earbuds and can sometimes beat them.
I will use these headphones for training, music, and videos because it is a good replacement for my Samsung Galaxy Buds. They come in great USB-C cases, they can auto-pair, and they don’t stand out (in a bad way) in public.
I can forgive their mistakes and I hope they are more comfortable and responsive but it is difficult to find the right earbuds at the moment.
After you read TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 review, are you agree with me? It may not be for fanatics or tech geeks, but they are a buyer-friendly product that will take care of your entertainment and your professional needs.
