For Bowers & Wilkins FC, the Px8 are still wireless headphones that you shouldn’t miss out on. Excellent quality and neat design still be available. If you have used the B&W Px7 S2 wireless headphones, both design and size are almost no different. They look very similar to each other. But the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 wireless advanced ANC headphones are crafted out of more luxurious materials than predecessors. And also develop and improve what was already an excellent sound performance, making it better. However; what’s more wonderful It comes at a relatively higher price as well.

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Wireless Headphones Review – The Design

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 review

It’s available in black and two-tone (dark brown and gray) on Amazon. The Px8 comes with a luxurious and beautiful case. It’s a semi-soft and hard case but still strong and durable. However; you should avoid dropping it or letting anything hit hard because it definitely affects the headphones that are contained inside and it will damage.

Another thing that I so much like, is the protective case hides the way to fasten the zipper. This design makes it look neat and well worth the price.

The headphones are designed with a metal accent on the earcups and there is the label “Bowers & Wilkins” printed on the centerpiece of the back of the cups. On the inside of the cups, you will see labels “R” and “L” to indicate the right and left sides. Which helps you put on your headphones properly.

The earcups can rotate to a flat shape (90-degree rotatable), which is convenient for storing the headphones in the case. However; you just can swivel the earcups to lay flat, can’t collapsible them into a more compact shape. So the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 can be portable but it’s quite large and bulky and takes up quite much space in the bag
and must be careful not to have heavy objects on it again.

Design to Extreme Soft and Comfortable

buy Bowers & Wilkins Px8

I have to say that the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 wireless headphones are super soft and comfortable to wear. Even though I wore them for hours for listening to music or watching movies, it didn’t hurt me or fatigue around the ears at all. The earcups and headband are padded with a material that is like leather but very soft. The company calls it “soft Nappa leather”.

The earcups are large and deep enough to fit to accommodate most sizes of ears and have a snug fit. I don’t feel clamped too tightly, it’s a perfect fit. I’m not a very big-head person (I think) but I don’t know, If you’re a large head, are the Px8 wireless headphones too tight on your head? But as far as I read reviews of Bowers & Wilkins Px8, no one has complained about it. Thought it would be large enough earcups and comfortable for most people.

I can wear these wireless ANC over-ear headphones for long periods without feeling fatigued.

On-Ear Physical Control Buttons

B&W Bowers & Wilkins Px8 wireless ANC headphones

There is a power switch, volume controls, and multi-function buttons on the right earcup. And for the ANC control button is placed on the left earcup. The buttons have a nice click and the distance between the buttons is just well-spaced. This makes it easy to press and less prone to mistakes.

In terms of use, it is very easy.

  • Power on/off – Single press power button
  • Activated Bluetooth pairing mode – Press and hold the power button
  • Volume control – Press ‘+’ button for raises the volume and ‘-‘ button for decrease the volume

Playback control and calls

  • Play/Pause – Single press the multi-function button
  • Skip to the next song – Double press the multi-function button
  • Back to the previous song – Triple-press the multi-function button
  • Switch between calls – Double press the multi-function button
  • Declines a call/Merge two calls (if you are in a call) – Press and hold the multi-function button

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 – Great Features

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Wireless Advanced Active Noise Cancelling Headphones

Like the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2, predecessor wireless headphones, to get the maximum Px8’s performance, it is necessary to work with the B&W Music app before we can access all settings.

Advanced Active Noise Cancellation

The first feature that the company is proud of, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 is the very good active noise-canceling headphones. The headphones are equipped with up to 6 microphones for noise cancellation and they work very well. Mostly noise is completely gone such as air condition noise, ambient chatter, or the high-pitched hum of AC units.

However; the Px8’a ANC system is not the best option for cutting down traffic noise, which this case high-end competitors like Bose QC45 or Sony WH-1000XM5 can do better. The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 can reduce some noise like that, but these sounds are still audible.

You can turn off ANC or switch to the transparency mode via the control button on the earcup or the app. When you turn on transparency mode (PassThrough mode), you can hear and talk to people around without taking off the headphones. But some said the passthrough mode feels unnatural sound.

Equalizer

I really love the EQ of the Px model, because they are easily functional and give great results. EQ adjustments can be very detailed, whether to increase or decrease. It delivers a pleasant sound character and is beautiful. Personally, I think should not be adjusted too much, the default sound profile offers an already excellent low-frequency range. Don’t go boosting too much. But for someone who likes heavy bass or heavy metal genres, it doesn’t matter anyway.

Auto Standby & Wearing Sensor

Auto Standby is responsible for adjusting the headphones to work at low power if it has not been used continuously for more than 15 minutes.

The Wearing Sensor feature is responsible for automatically pausing the music when taking off the headphones and automatically resuming when wearing the headphones again.

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones – Battery Life

According to its sheet, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 offers 30 hours of playtime for full charging. And also has quick charge features, after just 15 minutes of charging you will get an additional 7 hours of playtime. The number of hours of playtime is mediocre level. Not too less and too much. But 30 hours is long enough for a long flight or all day listening to your music.

Bluetooth 5.2 technology

These best wireless ANC headphones are Bluetooth 5.2 headphones. That means it is compatible with standard codecs like SBC and AAC. As well as the Px8 also supports aptX and aptX-HD too. if you listening from an aptX-HD source file, it delivers very excellent sound. Unfortunately, Bowers & Wilkins Px8 headphones do not yet support LDAC codec. The WH-1000XM4 and XM5 flagship headphones from Sony already support LDAC, and they are cheaper than the Px8 from Bowers & Wilkins too.

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Headphones Review – The Sound Quality

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 discounted

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 utilizes carbon cone driver units, which adjust the angle of the driver to tilt more toward the ear canal and deliver better sound, clearer, and good dimensions. The B&W Px8 headphones combine high-res 24-bit DSP with the 40mm Carbo Cones driver that gives outstanding resolution and also can feel nuances and detail in the music, which is lacking from mostly wireless headphones.

Bass

The best wireless ANC headphones have a bass-heavy sound, thump, and rumble. It delivers a lot of bass but not overflowing, big and deep bass. Not too much bass but can expose the lower frequencies deep enough. The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 wireless ANC headphones are ideal for those who like strong bass sound, buying Bowers & Wilkins Px8 headphones will not make you disappointed, I’m quite sure.

Mids

Soft and clear for mid-range. These wireless over-ear models have excellent mid-accuracy, The vocals are clear with good details as well as a pleasant sound character. It can be enjoyed for a long listening to music and responds well to all genres.

Highs

The treble is quite perfect as well as the mids. It may not be very glistening but it can show the extent of the treble sound flawlessly and clearly. What you should have heard in the high-frequency range, you will hear it all. This kind of clarity can be listened to for a long time without getting bored and not getting fatigued by your ears.

B&W Px8 Wireless Advanced ANC Headphones – Pros & Cons

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Review – Final Verdict

I know before buying Bowers & Wilkins Px8 wireless headphones, you will have to search and read a lot of information about Px8 reviews. And I hope the information that I have written will be useful for you. The Px8 is quite expensive but comes with great sound, enough ANC, and good transparency mode. The main competitor of B&W Px8 for now, would be only Focal Bathys (Hi-Fi Bluetooth wireless over-ear ANC headphones). They are each other’s fiercest competitors. Their specs, sound quality, and price are close. Both are excellent and expensive too.
