Versatile, Bluetooth, Dual connection, and wireless remote control, Minimize distortion with Built-in Digital Singal Process (DSP) and Dynamic Range Control (DRC)

Before starting my Edifier R2000db Review, I want to talk about the studio monitor speaker. Finding the perfect studio speaker for your individual goals and needs can be a huge challenge. The main reason for this is that you wish your speakers to not just fill a visual void on your bookshelf. But, you also wish them to be feature-packed and a fine source of sound.

Edifier R2000DB Review

The Edifier is one that’s famous as they don’t spend the bulk of their budget plan or advertising. In its place, edifier picks to use their funds to make more engineering marvels and new up-to-date tech with their audio pieces. The Edifier R2000DB speaker is not different and doesn’t disappoint.

Features of the Edifier R2000db

The edifier r2000db speaker is a bookshelf model inculpating a five-inch alloy mid/bass driver and 25 mm Eagle eye dome tweeter. Its very low resonance MDF cupboard features profiled side panels with an amazing piano lacquer finish and textured top, base, rear, and front panels. Inside digital crossover and class D amplifiers are based around a Texas instrument chipset and stunning Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).

The output power of the speaker is 60 Watt RMS for each channel (24W treble, 36W bass).  DSP-based dynamic number control minimizes distortion, keeping the fill harmonic distortion underneath 0.3 percent at the usual volume level. The DRC looks to act a little like a loudness contour, with little change in the response. The classic mode looks to offer a somewhat really flatter frequency response, while the DRC enhances the treble and bass a little and offers great control at extreme volume levels.

Design and Build quality

The edifier r2000db speakers follow the standard build quality and design for the hardware type. They look a little bulky in nature, have a usual mesh cloth on the front side and ports, and control the backside.

Among the 2 colors, cherry wood, and piano black, these likely would set in with most bookshelves without standing out really much. Though these are simply preferences, the latest corner table or flagship bookshelf speakers are starting to minimize the look. They do seem a little better in the advanced setting.

Though the edifier r2000db speakers have connectivity via Bluetooth among the 2 speakers there is a 10 ft long cable. This might be in part why the latency is almost not there, but these wires are really worth being aware of as it is a little bulky. We hid it right behind a backdropped side of a bookshelf and did not find it to get in the way.

The single downside to the shape is the included remote control. It can work fine at a distance without any problem, but the material, feel, and even key functionality just looks very cheap. It also has a volume control setting and 2 audio settings, rather than setting the bass and treble (you’ve to change that on the back).

Overall the design of the edifier r2000db looked about as much as you would expect from the speaker, but would not wow anybody either.

Sound Quality

Once set up, this bookshelf Bluetooth speaker delights with a sound quality that according to the Edifier R2000dB price. I spent some time testing the dynamic range control, switching it via the remote at different volume stages. Concluded, that for recent recordings, DRC is greatly left allowed; especially where the mastering leaves very much to desire.

For previous analog recordings and Beatles albums, in particular, DRC was fine disabled as it builds their sound quality and is artificially bright. DRC provides the speakers with better depth and superior scale, while seemingly boosting the treble and bass somewhat.

Determining the measurement of a kick drum, for instance, was simpler with it allowed, though with heavy or harsh limited modern experts at extreme volume levels it’d be a bit bright in the treble. It does allow you to push the speakers really hard, though I cannot say I noticed any problem pushing the edifier r2000db speakers hard with it disabled either.

More than price

One spot where the Edifier R2000DB excels is stereo imaging. They produce a large, convincing image, with rich depth and height too. The speakers have a huge sweet spot so you will get a fine stereo effect in more than a single listening spot, and they’ve no issue filling a smoothly wide room.

The low end is well-controlled and deep and the top end is extended and crisp. Most vitally, as promised, the Edifier R2000DB speakers appear to be free of audible distortion even when running very high volume 1.

Even with Bluetooth link place in extreme performance. Since its intro some years ago, Bluetooth audio is largely improved to the spot where a fine Bluetooth stream is CD quality. While a few Bluetooth streamers bear from audible artifacts, most vitally an irritating extreme frequency distortion, the edifier r2000db doesn’t and I happily streamed tons of content through Bluetooth from a Smartphone.

Edifier R2000DB Review – Final Word

The Edifier R2000DB speaker is a classic set of powered speakers that delivers the best. They seem attractive, they sound well, and they have a really useful set of functions. Their size might be too large for some people, and they do not have the thumping bass of the Aego³, but Edifier R2000DB comes highly recommended for music listeners and all-around sound quality.
